We are accumulating coaching talent, but we have yet to bring in any new impact players. I am neither negative or positive, but it's hard to get too excited until we see some serious talent joining what we already have on the field.
During the 1999 off season, my interest jerked way up when no less than Isaac express his surprised pleasure at the Horns acquiring Marshall Faulk. (When your elite players are getting jacked up interest-wise, you know guys are gonna stat setting their sights higher than usual.) Adam Timmermann came from Green Bay to anchor the right side of the OL while Orlando Pace anchored the port side. Ricky Proehl who led the Rams in receiving the previous year after an injury-prone 1998 for Isaac was back again. Az Hakim climbed out of Vermeil's doghouse to claim the slot receiver role. Torry Holt was selected 6th overall in the draft to pair with Isaac as a starter. Trent Green came with new OC, Mike Martz, to take over the QB position.
I'll get really excited when I start seeing more positive things happen player-wise, but the upwards spike in coaching talent is definitely uplifting.
