It's my belief it would be a very good business decision to go with what the Rams have currently signed & look for 2022 future RB prospects to add. So the Rams RB room is currently looking like these six will be here going into the draft:

Darrell Henderson

Javian Hawkins
Xavier Jones
Cam Akers
Jake Funk

Raymond Calais
Free Buddy Howell....He's the biggest RB the Rams have and is an outstanding special team player. I want to see him carry the rock more in the preseason of 2023 unless the Rams draft a bigger back with that intention.

The Rams spent around $2m total on Jake Funk, Buddy Howell, Raymond Calais and Xavien Howard. That didn’t work out as we hoped.

I’m suggesting that, rather than paying Michel $5M, we look at RB prospects in Rounds 4-6. Some guys I like are Brian Robinson (Alabama), Jashaun Corbin (FSU) and Hassan Haskins (Michigan).

To me, Michel is just a luxury we can’t afford given our other FA issues, particularly on the OL.
Thats what you get when you rely on unproven players. There's no reason to be sure that Robinson, Corbin and Haskins dont end up like Funk, Howell, Calais etc
Just seems like every point made in regards to not signing Michel is the exact reason we should IMO
Contract Projection: Two years, $8.5 million ($4.25M per year), $5 million total guaranteed
Even better
Sony Michel for 4.25 mill?

SpotRac has this reported on DW as having a market value estimated 4 yrs, $58 mil.- Avg. Salary: $14.6 mil. PFF estimates are Three years, $33 mil. ($11 million per year, $20 million total guaranteed).
IF Darious Williams makes 11-14.6 million per year then I will try out for cornerback. How much would a fat, 62 year-old corner make?

I think I could get you 3-4 million if you could prove effective on the Corner Blitz.

Oline should be top priority, why break apart a oline that was amazing during the playoffs?

Michel was a workhorse and great blocker. I would retain him if he could be had for decent $$$$. Say $3m.
Michel put the team on his back and carried us for several games after the Rams were in free fall in November. Would love to have him back if possible. Pretty sure other teams noticed his performance too however.

I’d like to weigh in on the “big 3”. This might be unpopular, but...

OBJ: why sign him now, affecting our FA compensation? He won’t be up and “running” for a while. When/if he’s able to go at some point in the season, talk to him then. As great as he played for the Rams, I didn’t see him make one catch I thought Woods wouldn’t.

Miller: are we sure he can play like that for a whole season without tweaking this, or hurting that? We saw the difference in Weddle trying to play a whole season and playing just a few games with a ring on the line.

Noteboom: Also assuming Whitworth retires, this becomes a must sign; especially if both Corbett and Allen walk. We can’t sign all 3 and we can’t let all 3 walk. LT is the most important of the positions.

Sure appears that Buddy is free. This 26 yr old RB ex-Miami, ex-Houston, now is an ex-Rams is an UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENT.

I felt good about Howell on special teams, but I also feel the Rams will draft someone so Howell might not be back, but I would have liked to see him get some carries, oh well, thank you Mr. Howell for the 3 hour tour, you were lovely on special teams.

Rams have 13 UFAs.
Michel, Howell, Beckham, Powell, Mundt, Noteboom, Allen and Corbett on Offense; and Joseph-Day, Miller, Okoronkwo, D. Williams and Deayon on Defense.

With Whit 95% retired I gotta believe the Rams need to sign back 2 of the 3 OL (Note, Corbett, Allen).

LT Joseph Noteboom & OC Coleman Shelton would be my prediction. Snead will do the Blythe Maneuver Plan on Corbett & Allen.

When Von Miller's $$$ demands come out as unreasonable, I would look for Edge Rusher Og Okoronkwo to be offered & signed a Ram contract again.

I think Allen could come back too with Corbett signing elsewhere with hope that Ed Ingram from LSU lasts until when the Rams pick so they can select him & move him to RG for a long period of time.

Brian Allen is still learning how to pass block & he may never be able to reach a level where he can be good at it but his run blocking game has been excellent. The truth is BA only has real one season 2021 as a starter & he did miss a few games this season too. So BA's 4 yr career resume until this season is mainly made up of being:

#1- a very raw product with not enough ability to start
#2-unhealthy with injuries

BA has approx 1 1/2 seasons worth of starting snaps in 4 seasons in this Sean McVay wide-zone running scheme. BA was built to play in this type of offense.

IMO how many teams would be interested in BA that runs this type of running scheme? How many of them are in need & are full of cap funds to take a chance to invest $$$ in him? Have any idea?

Not sure plus how many teams run that scheme? I like Shelton and believe he can be a starter, but IMO, Allen is more of a possibility then Corbett. Allen has a bit of an injury history plus does not have great size, that should limit the interests, however, you have to factor in the Vikings now with O'Connell as Head Coach.

Overall IMO, the Rams got lucky with Allen as he was written off, however, Corbett moving to center was not good for Corbett & Bobby Evans was an epic fail at RG so thankfully and much stronger Allen was ready to answer the call plus Shelton when called upon showcased the ability to handle the position and if called upon would be ready too IMHO.

Brian Allen is a Pro Bowler and Super Bowl Champion. His agents aren't doing their jobs if they're not playing that up - and Allen has an agency team, so there's multiple attorneys to pay with that commission off of his FA contract.

Whatever opinions there are here about Pro Bowl caliber players doesn't change that Allen was selected to the Pro Bowl. Plus, I think there's a good chance that Allen's value (on the FA market with agent-assisted marketing) will never be higher than it is now, so Allen+agents have the motivation to go for that once-in-a-career Big Contract.

I just get the feeling someone will throw stupid money at Brian Allen and I sure as hell hope it's not the Rams.

Good players on really good teams, often get over-paid by weak teams, with salary cap space because they have done a poor job of drafting and developing. The Rams used to be one of those weak teams that did a poor job of drafting and developing ... and ... then over-paid for free agents.

I am curious what the Rams' UFAs will be offered on the open market. Especially Noteboom, Williams, Corbett and Allen.
