Its already been said here - but I'll add my 2 cents to it is that it didn't seem a normal coming back from injury thing with Quick regarding their statements on him. They didn't say "he's ok - we're just being cautious", or "he's ok - he's just not fully up with his conditioning yet" or even "he's had a setback" - all of which would be understandable (with the last being disappointing sure) - they said he couldn't get on the game day roster because they wanted a guy to play special teams. Fine - get your ST stud in - but it seemed to me to be a bit odd, because Reynolds was out so we needed a ST player to come in for him anyway - so it wasn't as though they got in an EXTRA ST guy - they just replaced one with another. That led to obvious concerns about what was going on with Quick.

Perhaps its nothing - we're all reading too much into it. Like AJ Hicks says above they might just want to be getting an inside track on some of our upcoming opponents - but that seems to be a stretch to me.

I'd also say I'd like to see Stedman Bailey play as the Z guy instead of Britt (because I think he's better than him) and Quick when he returned would be the X guy across from him. If Quick was going to be healthy I thought that would be a pretty potent outside pair - but maybe the Rams disagree.

We'll see tomorrow I guess.

Don't know about Practice Squad eligibility, but no, none of them have played for any of those teams. Vast majority of them are Vikings rejects actually.

As listed on the link excluding Toon, it goes Whiners, Vikings, Vikings Vikings, Colts and I can't even find proof that Taylor Washington even freaking exists.

Did they mess up? Maybe it's Corey Washington.

Depending on what our needs are after FA and stuff, I'd be willing to invest a high pick into our WR group. Not sure that's the best option, throwing more young talent in there, but honestly our guys aren't producing.
I think that's a great idea DYVKX. This team needs playmakers on offense. I know guy's want to build a solid oline but look at the Giants oline they suck but a defense must respect their WRs so they can't just load up against the run like teams do with us.

Yeah, I'd think that seal it.

Corey's the only one with experience with one of the teams, but that was last year on their practice squad. Seems like a waste just to get to him.

He was with the Giants though, and you can still learn a thing or two from Beckham and Cruz, and Randle isn't a complete slouch either. I don't know if any of these guys are worth it. Obviously we don't know the situation though either, anything could be going on with these WRs, Fisher leaves everyone in the dark.

If we're looking to improve Toon and Washington are definitely the only people I'm calling back.

Toon intrigues me the most, he's the best among the lot. If he can stay healthy he would be a steal. He was starting to look legit, how much of that was Brees remains to be seen, but his hands, route running and ability to get open were top notch.

Anytime a reporter asks about Quick the person being interviewed seems to start walking on egg shells and starts speaking from a script that seems like its been given to them to not say anything different. No one has deviated from the party line. Makes me think something mental with Quick who is known to be a very slow learner and Cignetti's system should be a breeze to pick up after what Schotty ran. Does he need things dumbed down for him? I DON'T KNOW. I HAVE NO CLUE. I have heard he is physically ready and then the party line clicks in.

I know our Team really needs his ass on the field ASAP. Is he afraid of getting hit on that shoulder? This High 2ND round pick is starting to worry me as we truly NEED his skills for Nick Foles to throw too.
I would like to know where you got the "he is known to be a slow learner" stuff from.

Is this just rampant speculation or some sort of supposition about a kid who came into the league with virtually no "system" experience? He is NOT a "slow kid" by any stretch of the imagination.

As to the OP and the so called story from Florio, it seems to be much being made about nothing. All these teams work out players EVERY WEEK.

Florio is speculating (?) about a this so called doghouse. Anything to get a few extra clicks.

Nothing to see here IMO

Interesting.

Yeah, when you consider that Brian Quick is 6' 4" and 220 lbs, Toon and Washington as well as a few of the others could be mirror images, at least as far as size and weight goes.

Yeah. May not mean anything, because teams really do bring in free agents all the time, but that's a lot of big receivers.

What caught my attention before posting that article is the number of wide receivers and no mention of any other positions being tried out.

If he is not active tomorrow. I would say that he is still not ready physically.
Just because he isn't listed on the injury report doesn't mean he is ready to play. He missed a ton of work OTAs and has been out for almost 10 months. While he participated in camp he was not subjected to any contact. The one time he was taken to the ground on a contested pass, you could see the hesitation and concern on his face. The shoulder might be medically cleared to play. But the mental (confidence) might not be all the way back just yet.
