This has been a very difficult ranking...lol.
Ok, maybe reorder your #7-10:
8. Gurley
9. Holt
10. Quinn
I really think Gurley's season was very impactful, with a number of games where he had a lot of impact on the wins (think at Dallas and at Seahawks, etc.). Quinn had a great season, but how many were impactful sacks vs. garbage time sacks. I'd take Gurley & Holt's production over Quinn.
Anyway, there's my additional comments!
You could order those any way you want and I'd be fine with that. I know Quinn had the misfortune of being on a non-playoff team with backups playing half of the year, but his big plays had major impacts on our games:
Wk 1 vs ARI (W 27-24): 3 sacks and 2 FF (the second when we were down 24-21 in the 4th quarter)
Wk 8 vs SEA (L 9-14): 3 sacks and a TFL in MNF game we had a chance to win vs the eventual SB champs
Wk 10 @ IND (W 28-8): 2 sacks & FF (returned for TD by Long on first drive, setting tone for blowout W)
Wk 12 vs CHI (W 42-21): 1 sack, FF, and TD (iced the game with a strip sack, scoop & score)
Wk 15 vs NO (W 27-16): 2 sacks, FF (signature strip sack of Brees, also hit Brees to cause INT on first play)
Wk 16 vs TB (W 23-13): 3 sacks (had 2 at the end of the game to ice it & breaking Kevin Carter's record)
So you could say Quinn had a significant impact on at least half of our wins that year and making game changing plays to swing the momentum.
This is not to discount the year Todd had. I agree games like DAL, SF, SEA, TEN stand out, but to merely penalize Quinn for being on a loser isn't fair imo. He deserved to be DPOY in 2013 and had as dominant a year from and edge as I've ever seen.
Having said all of that, I see how a case can be made for Todd because he may have had a larger impact on our Ws and we actually made the playoffs. It's something I will consider heavily when finalizing my list. I also try to consider how unique of a year each player had for their position at that time. That's why guys like Crazylegs and ED are so high.
