Well, went to buy tickets in the presale this morning. What a disaster!

I was number 35000 in the queue to get tickets. Needless to say there was nothing left in General Admission when my turn arrived.

I was also looking at the more expensive hospitality tickets but they were limited to almost single seats only. We have a group of 8 so that didn’t work for us either.

Will try again when they go on sale to the general masses but am not holding out any hope. The place will be a sellout for sure.

Being a Rams ‘International’ member didn’t provide any benefits either. Seemed strange that the Rams offered priority ticketing for season ticket holders though. I see the thinking there in terms of not wanting to piss offfl the members who are losing a home game but in reality, it’s the international members more likely to attend.

Oh well, we have our travel and accommodation booked so will just have to find a pub to watch the game.

Sorry to hear that RR. Rams international membership was a bit of a joke. Yes very difficult to get access to tickets. I'm an MCC member and they sold out quickly also. I was 17000 in line and they have a capacity of 23000 seats in the members reserve. Only option I had was a single restricted viewing seat for $630AUD. Rapt that I got in -- but I have some kids that are upset they can't go - sort of glad I couldn't get more than one -- as it is hard to justify x5 at that price. Times are tough enough as it is.

I hear you.

As I mentioned, there are 8 of us and only two of us were willing to pay the VIP prices but I couldn’t even get 2 of them together. So it was always going to be a difficult task.

We will end finding a function somewhere, probably the casino, and watch it there. I’m sure there will be fan activities in the lead up that we can involve ourselves in.

Kyle Shanahan knows 'for a fact' Rams lobbied to play 49ers in Australia, and he's not happy

Needless to say, Shanahan isn't happy about going to Melbourne, and he wants to return the favor to the Rams in Mexico

Kyle Shanahan does not want to go to Australia. He says there’s “not much benefit” to the San Francisco 49ers flying across the globe for the season-opener in Melbourne.

“I don’t see any pro,” he said at the owners meetings this week.

To make matters worse, they’re facing the Los Angeles Rams, who are the designated home team. Clearly bothered by the 49ers’ international schedule, Shanahan made a bold claim on PFT Live Tuesday when he said he knows “for a fact” that the Rams lobbied to face the 49ers in Melbourne.

“I know for a fact they did. That’s what’s so bothersome,” Shanahan said.

The 49ers are the home team for another international game in Mexico City, and Shanahan is hoping to get some retribution. He wants the NFL to schedule the Rams as the 49ers’ opponent for that game in Mexico, saying it’s only fair “to make them go out of the country twice, too.”

“Hopefully, the league will do right and let us play the Rams in Mexico, since we’ve got to go out of the country twice, and they requested us. I’m requesting them in Mexico,” Shanahan said.

The 49ers are known to take over SoFi Stadium when they play the Rams, and Shanahan believes that’s part of the reason Los Angeles requested to play the Niners elsewhere. He understands their reasoning, but still hopes to get back at the Rams by forcing them to play another international game later in the season.

He knows how frustrating it would be to use the silent count at home and feel like it’s a road game, admitting it “would suck.”

"And I get that," Shanahan said. "That would suck to have to do silent cadence and have our home game at their stadium, so I get their ambitions, but they were rewarded that. So I'm just hoping we can get our request still. I'd love for them to come to Mexico. Our Mexican fanbase is awesome.”

Nothing like a good old division rivalry, right? Especially one between two teams whose head coaches are good friends.

The Rams plan to make their trip to Australia a short one, with Sean McVay saying he fully expects the 49ers to touch down before them. But with a 17-hour time difference, both teams will need several days to acclimate their bodies.
When I first saw this I thought it was just a poor attempt at an April Fools gag. Then I remembered that Ratboy is a little bitch and this was probably true
