This is more of a Broadcaster observation / opinion, than a Rams' celebration comment but I don't think it warrants its own thread.
I like Rich Eisen. Have for a long time. Enjoy his sports/entertainment themed talk show.
But Rich Eisen is an awful play-by-play man. Seems calm, comfortable and confident in his surroundings and with his delivery. However, he makes some terrible mistakes ... especially with identification of players.
There is no excuse for that. These guys have spotters to help them.
Re-watching the game, and have noticed some really bad misses.
On one pass attempt, on a third-down play, Lawrence overthrew his receiver and the ball went out-of-bounds on the Rams' sideline. The coverage by Quentin Lake was good but Eisen said Emmanuel Forbes was in coverage. I didn't see Forbes anywhere near the play. I re-watched it, and Forbes was NOT even on the field. Forbes was on the Rams' sideline, and ran onto the field AFTER the play to go out for the punt return.
Eisen gave credit to a player that was not even on-the-field. Lake wears #37 ... Forbes wear #1.
On the Rams' ensuing possession, Stafford attempted a long pass down the middle to Terrance Ferguson.
Pass fell incomplete. Rich Eisen identified the intended receiver as Xavier Smith. COME ON!
Smith is a 180 pound black guy ... Ferguson is a 250 pound white guy. I mean ... COME ON RICH!
Mistakes are made ... it's mostly OK ... but in neither case did Eisen correct himself. Not Impressed.
There are reasons I watch most live Rams' games with the sound off.
