Then why did the Rams spend so much to get him? He isn't a #1 type WR so the pick was justified by so many because of how dynamic he is, not only in the passing and running game, but also the return game. If you take the return game out, his value is diminished.

Not if turns into a Desean Jackson type player. Desean dont run kicks back much anymore. It all depends how muchTavon improves as a receiver.

This is going to be fun to watch in preseason for that kick/punt returner spot!! Possibly having Austin, Reid, Veltung, Joyner, Spencer, and maybe a few other guys battling it out is going to be fun!

I would assume if Austin gets stripped of the punt return duties then we found an explosive replacement and Austin's touches on offense will increase. I just think it would be really stupid to take returns away from him and not give him enough touches on offense.

If he turns into a WR that can get over 1000 yards and 10+ TDs, I could understand not using him on returns. I've just never thought of Tavon as that type of WR.

i would hope he can be after we traded up to get him. He also looked good on the outside. Either Quick or Britt is going to help take pressure off him.
