Yeah I’ve heard that. But 4 years? He’d be here for the 24-26 seasons which could be prime Super Bowl windows. They couldnt back load his contract yo ease the hit this year?Matt Gay signed a 4 year 22 million dollar deal with the Colts. I'm sure they woulda liked to keep him but that was just too much with the direction they were going this year regarding signing players.
I don't think so I believe the will use the practice squad to active Crosby for the next couple of games and they will list Havrisik as inactive. If they truly want someone to kick a long FG like 60 years, Ethan Evans can kick those if needed.Yeah they probably want Havrisik's strong leg in this next game. If Crosby was remotely comparable there he'd have the job outright most likely.
Be interesting if they go the draft route because this is a good year for kickers or if they sign somebody in free agency.Yeah I’ve heard that. But 4 years? He’d be here for the 24-26 seasons which could be prime Super Bowl windows. They couldnt back load his contract yo ease the hit this year?
We always hear that kickers aren’t worth paying. That holds true until you don’t have one.
That's a 6.208e+17 yard FG. Even Justin Tucker might struggle with that one.a long FG like 60 years
Enter the Dragan!!!Along with endless nickname possibilities.
This is the problem with the second guessing, the Rams didnt have the cap space at the time, and still had the draft coming up.They could have made it work.
According to Spotrac, the Rams currently have over $8M of cap space.
Over-the-Cap has the Rams with $4.8M of cap space.
Both cap sites have Gay's 2023 cap hit as just over $3M.
Now Gay's cap hit in 2024 goes up to $5.9M; and that's a high number for a Place-Kicker ... and, it would have reduced their 2024 off-season cap space.
I just keep thinking about Sam Ficken, Kai Forbath and Sam Sloman before the Rams hit on Matt Gay.
And then I have Nightmares.
I think they'd be more concerned with accuracy in this game. On a rainy field the likelihood of making 45+ yarders is infinitely worse for everyone, may as well try to lock down the one's inside that. (And extra points of course)Yeah they probably want Havrisik's strong leg in this next game. If Crosby was remotely comparable there he'd have the job outright most likely.
I'd rather have Crosby out there. After that Browns game I said Havrisik was good as gone. But trying to read this move I'm not so sure they're done with Havrisik.I think they'd be more concerned with accuracy in this game. On a rainy field the likelihood of making 45+ yarders is infinitely worse for everyone, may as well try to lock down the one's inside that. (And extra points of course)
I'm seeing it as they can get Crosby up to speed on PS, then call him up on gameday. Will waive Luke once Crosby is settled in and put him back on PSWhat that translates into we'll see. The moves themselves just give me the feeling they're thinking outdoors + weather + bad matchup = last hurrah for Havrisik.

Good reasoning.my guess is they are going with the veteran for the Baltimore game..he is experienced in kicking in bad weather
I still don't understand this signing if they truly wanted the experience.my guess is they are going with the veteran for the Baltimore game..he is experienced in kicking in bad weather
