One of the Rams' 2025 games I still have recorded is their late-season comeback win against the Lions.

I re-watched it, fast-forwarding to the special teams plays because I wanted to focus on #15 (Grant Stuard).

Impressive. Six plays stood-out ... four were on Detroit kick-offs, and two were Rams' punts.

Very ... VERY ... limited sample size ... But ... Grant Stuard stood-out on Special Teams in that game..
Appreciate you doing that and providing the feedback too. The 2nd addition to the special team unit along with Long Snapper Joe Cardona. So the new ST coach has received two free agents, now, I expect a 7th round pick of either Eli Heidenreich (Navy) or Kaden Wetjen (Iowa) for punt returns.

Snead continues to fill needs. Everyone knows STs have a big need. Looks like he can fill ILB if needed.
Ya I agree, but how much do you want to invest in ST's, when you have a QB that needs to be protected, a WR that still needs to get paid, another defensive piece (LB), and a 13th pick that will be inked at $25 mil.

As long as Meevis doesn't have any mental episodes next season, and a punt returner ( whomever that may be) stays on his feet to catch punts rather than the old "lay on your back to secure punt" play. I think we are just going to have to make up for ST's group in other ways. I'll be happy with marginal improvements with the ST's group this coming season.

Impressive. Six plays stood-out ... four were on Detroit kick-offs, and two were Rams' punts.

The most impressive was a KO in the mid-2nd-quarter, where Stuard deked Speights and went by him untouched, racing to the returner and drilling him for the tackle.

On another KO, Stuard ran over Speights like he wasn't there ... planted him; and then took on Reeder, knocking him back towards the pile where the returner went down. Still another one, Stuard quickly disengaged from Speights' block to force the returner to his right and into a quick tackle.

On the two Rams' punts, Stuard lined-up inside and took-on a coverage man (Speights on one play, Dolac on the other) as Evans punted. What was So Impressive was that neither Rams' LB was able to disengage from Stuard's blocks for the Entire Play. Stuard was on them for five-plus seconds and more than forty yards.

By-the-way, Speights looked just Awful on special teams.

On Lions' punts, Stuard was the Up-Man but never had to block a Rams' rusher because on none of those punts, did a Rams player come free up-the-middle. Stuard generally ran free down the middle of the field but there were no plays (tackles) to be made.

Very ... VERY ... limited sample size ... But ... Grant Stuard stood-out on Special Teams in that game..
Interesting on 2 fronts:
1- How good Stuart looked on STs. 2 - How bad the Rams LBs looked on STs.
Notice to Speights and Reeder especially.

I watched many Lions games last season as one of best pals is a Lions fan, and I don't see anything that overly stands out other than his locks blowing around. And he does look like a high energy type player, but nothing stands out to where he's going to make a huge difference on coverages.... But every little bit can only help with our ST's group.

I'll trust Snead and Co on this one. You have to put some money here when your team is as bad as the Rams were. The 18th-ranked STer is much better than what the Rams had last year.

You generally don't know special teamers from other teams. If this helps our special teams then great. We had the worst special teams in the league. The main reason along with a poor secondary we aren't celebrating another championship. Even better if he provides decent depth at LB. At least we know they're trying to fix the two weak links of the team. CB and ST. They saw what we saw.

Bubba's not fuckin around. Obviously teams positions are going to eat bottom roster spots. It's about damn time.

I thought the overall value for a NFL 13th overall pick is $25mil....
What does that have to do with your argument? That is over a 5 year period. It has almost zero to do with our ability to sign ST, pay Puka, or O-line players.

I'm not arguing..... It does impact our current cap to the tune of $6mil (I think)... (regarding our 13th pick)

If your interpreting my initial response that was directed at someone else's post, to your "WTF I am out of my mind" conjecture well I feel you're taking it out of context, to somehow pontificate I'm some sort of idiot for making such a response.

Meh. There was no 13 personnel either - until there was. If I recall, they used Skow in the FB roll a bit.
To me the difference is vast. Tight ends are just as valuable in blocking but they're much more versatile and in a lot of cases are vastly more dynamic.

If McVay wants a fullback I'm getting for whatever. The joke has been fun for a long time. But you example of 13 personnel should show you he's unlikely to add a full back into the offense.

Nope. Just that you’re once again throwing horseshit out there and then going to act like you’re being picked on again. And… right on target.

Yeah. I was mostly just throwing it out there as a joke anyway. Cheers.

I don't think you're picking on me..... I was responding to another persons post.... maybe you're interpreting it another way.

But if you're going to go on about me throwing out "horseshit" can't I respond to it..... I'm not responding to you in any way that would be insulting to your character. Nor do I think you are me.
