I don't know that Whittington had anything Id say was a big game.
A play here and there, but, potential for sure.
I'd say a 90 yard game compared to a 0 yard game constitutes a big game.

Didn't realize he had that many yards.....all the more reason to look forward to what he is going to do going forward.I'd say a 90 yard game compared to a 0 yard game constitutes a big game.

As big of a Kupp Fan as I am, I have to disagree. Might have taken another year or two if Kupp didnt get hurt, but he def would have been out there as WR2 no doubt to replace Kupp in a year or two as WR1.I disagree if kupp didn’t get hurt don’t think puka would have had as big of a opportunity
He had two games at 89 vs GB, and 86 vs Sea. Both Puka and Kupp were not in the game for those. GB they were Hurt and Sea was last week of season.I'd say a 90 yard game compared to a 0 yard game constitutes a big game.

What I’m saying is he wouldn’t have gotten have gotten as many opportunities his rookie year with out the injuryAs big of a Kupp Fan as I am, I have to disagree. I think he would have. The Rams were very excited about him in camp. They had high expectations for him to start the season. Plus, like I said, the cream rises. What I’m saying is he wouldn’t have gotten have gotten as many opportunities his rookie year with out the injury
That’s the hitch. Theres often buzz around camp/preseason about a WR that never really materializes. Hodge, Jefferson comes to mind. There was a buzz around Nacua in training camp.
Robinson - that got a lot of us excitedThat’s the hitch. Theres often buzz around camp/preseason about a WR that never really materializes. Hodge, Jefferson comes to mind.
Preseason all-star McCutchen as well.Robinson - that got a lot of us excited
Both of them was first round picks and chase was like top 3 not comparableI think he would have. The Rams were very excited about him in camp. They had high expectations for him to start the season. Plus, like I said, the cream rises.
Do you think if the Rams had drafted Jamar Chase, would he have had to wait several games until he got his chance? Mike Evans? No.
Yes it is. They are all talented players. Pula is a top receiver. Some lists have him as high as 4th in the league. Both of them was first round picks and chase was like top 3 not comparable
This dude is real small, looks like a teenager. His numbers are impressive.Chase Blackburn turning around the special teams in every shape, way and form. Stared with the drafting of Ethan Evans and adding long snapper Alex Ward, drafting Joshua Karty, developing Xavier Smith and now adding a dynamite return man in Covey.
I also believe with the additions of Shaun Dolac as I believe he will make the team and be a special team demon along with Jordan Whittington as one of the gunners, the special teams could make a huge difference in 2025.
Evans was all Blackburn, he knew him because of being in North Carolina, where Wingate is and liked him quite a bit. Karty was liked by all, including this board. Also be interesting to see how the new special team assistant coach Ben Kotwica works out. Those 2 are nice pieces, but I give LES SNEAD some credit as well.
Interesting detail. I missed the part about Ackerman suggesting Whittington for kick returns. It was a good move imo. I love how he doesn’t dance around, allowing the kick coverage to reach him before going upfield. Get the most you can on every kick, and hope you break a long one instead of moving laterally looking for the perfect land that rarely if ever opens.Evans was all Blackburn, he knew him because of being in North Carolina, where Wingate is and liked him quite a bit. After Scott Frost left, the Rams replaced him with Craig Aukerman who McVay and Shula knew from Miami of Ohio. Aukerman was credited with suggesting Whittington more on kickoff returns and being the gunner. Aukerman was hired by the Dolphins this year as the Special Teams coach and the Rams brought in Ben Kotwica, who was let go by the Broncos.
Good on him, having the confidence to take over a legend's shirt number. They gave him jersey #10.
