Best thing is how he wanted to come to the Rams and he knows the issues we had last year at the kicker position.

He mentioned kicking it "though the pipes". I love that! Gonna use that from here on out with him.

I'm excited about the whole draft and love everyone we were able to get but am so relieved they drafted a stud kicker. I know most people tend to devalue the kicker position and I get it but nothing depresses me more than losing a game due to special teams. Kickers are usually one of, if not thee, top scorers on every team. They are important. Love how him and his family wanted to come here too. Hopefully we're set for the next decade now because last season was giving me an ulcer every time we had to kick lol.

Watching some of these types of videos they usually hug their girlfriend at some point. Looks like it happened at the end here.
And the girls quite often have a funny look on their faces. Happy for their guy.........but they have the "can I keep him" look.
They are in North Carolina and she had to be thinking about all the hot girls in LA.
Actually, I have a lot of respect for guys that get famous and keep their original girl.

Back to the Rams, it going to be so nice for our kicks to be almost automatic again !
He looks like a winner to me.

I’ve never understood why people don’t consider kickers as being a key part of the team.

Buffalo would not have lost that Super Bowl if Scott Norwood hadn’t missed. The trouble is that a quarterback can overthrow a pass, or a wide receiver drop a pass, and it’ll soon be forgiven.

A kicker misses: it’s held against him for ever. Kickers should be much more valued - both financially and by fans- than they are

My Raider fan buddy was at the Raiders-Bills game in LA in 1991, Norwoods last year and the season after his big Super Bowl miss.
It was a close game the Raiders won 30-27 in OT. Norwood had a key FG to make late in the game.
So my buddy stands up well before the kick and starts screaming NORWOOD-NORWOOD_NORWOOD and got the whole place chanting it too.
He missed.

Exactly. Kicking is possibly the most mentally demanding position in football. They may not be the biggest, fastest or strongest, but kickers need to have other attributes.

Kicker was a position I really hoped they would not pass on in the draft. Rolling the dice with an undrafted kicker usually doesn't work out too well. And its not like you have a give up a premium pick for a good college kicker. They're usually still there in the 6th and 7th round. Hopefully he stabilizes the kicking game for years to come. Sure would be nice not to have kicking woes a topic of conservation during the season.

Having 10 picks also gives them the extra ammo to pick a kicker in the draft. If they had only 5 it might have been be different story.
I like the pick.
