The past injury risks to Ram OL'ers has played a major role in the disma
100% correct the past injury hits taken by the Rams starting OL'ers is HUGE! just speaking of the OT's that were injured in 2015 were all rookies OT Havenstein, OT Donnal & OT Williams. That left just Isaiah Battle & GRob healthy. Garrett Reynolds who was the top reserve swing OT/OG to his credit, remained healthy throughout too.
The knee injury to Andrew Donnal wk#11 when he was starting @ ORT would normally placed him on the IR but with starters ORT Williams & ORG Brown being placed on the IR on wk#10 & with Reynolds now starting @ OLG, Boudreau was left with a young inexperienced IB. Boudreau's main issue at that time was @ ORT so they keep ORT Donnal off the IR but Donnal never dressed again in 2015. Havenstein who already impaired received his 2nd lower leg injury wk#8 had to man up & return to start @ ORT wk#13 & play through the pain of two lower leg injuries because the only OT IB was not close to being ready but he was active & on the 53 player roster.
IMO Boudreau & the Rams have GRob entering his 3rd season as a starter. Two seasons left on GRob's original contract with a pending big question mark ? as on that very expensive 5th yr option thereafter. This is where IB's value & investment really enters the picture frame. GRob will be an ultra high cost $$$ UFA in 2018. IB will be a very low cost RFA (worlds apart in money terms). IB if he keeps trending forward in improvement & progress to his commitments IB could be in a position to seize the Rams starting OLT post in 2018. This is why we need IB to make this team in 2016. Otherwise that just leaves the undersized 6-5 300 pound Darrell Williams or the always injured Rodger Saffold to protect the future of this
Ram organization. Fisher failed :help:before in doing this with Sam Bradford.
