Allen may or may not make it as a starting C. Of course I hope he does. But he may not blossom until next season.
We are all well aware of that 43. Just like we're all aware that Blythe is not good enough. I mean damn we discussed that last year.

My response was to your statement that Les should make a move now at Center. Is it out there. Is it realistic as a request. Is it smart or necessary. That's where I'm at on this conversation my man.

What is apparent to all is the Rams OL through 7 games, has not been able to control the LOS. NO push, not able to open holes, poor pass blocking. the Rams may have found help with Edwards at LG, when will they address RG? They already have 7 games of film on the OL. They can see, just like us, that Blythe is a weak link in the OL. NO one better than Blythe on the bench? If they can't control the LOS they aren't going far, if at all, into the playoffs.

I hope the Corbett trade works out and he gets a shot at RG, and soon. If not him, Brewer or Evans. Someone other than Blythe, he's not getting it done.

Don’t know if there is a solution at C or RG out there to salvage our ‘19 season, Merlin.

And I’m sure that the Rams are not only aware but are turning over every rock to solve thus problem.

Hell, Allen might be a fine C someday. I think that he’s likely to become at least league average at some point.

Blythe has been imploding since late last year. I’m hoping that either someone already on the roster OR someone off the street can come in and save the day at RG, kinda like CJ for Gurley late last year.

The stakes couldn’t be higher, and thus my frustration. We will live or die playoff-wise based upon C and RG play in these next 9 games.

i know that you know all this. I’m just venting, man.

Some guys just can’t add strength. People have limitations. If he hasn’t done it by now his chances aren’t good.
I'm sure he can get stronger. Saffold has been lifting at an NFL level for years and was perhaps the second strongest on the team after Donald. A rookie isnt going to come in with that strength right away.

He needs to get on that five day a week hardcore lifting regimen this offseason.

My hope is that Corbett is the new wildcard here. I'm forgetting past performance with the Browns because he may not have been a scheme fit there.

I hold out hope that he could improve that position at guard and hasn't yet played because he's simply learning the new system.

We need a little patience here. Pass blocking was outstanding Sunday and while the running game wasn't great, Gurley was awful.

The 2nd and goal draw from the 11 should have been a TD - it was clearly designed for Gurley to run up the middle, because Blythe pulled around to wham block the DT - but Gurley ran to his left, essentially where Blythe was blocking his guy.

It's similar to Gurley's 2nd season - it's possible for the offense to be an issue AND the player to be an issue - Gurley is definitely part of the problem right now.

You have it backwards Frankit. Gurley can't run through holes that aren't there. It s the OL that sucks, not Gurley.
