I kind of figured he'd get more head coach consideration this offseason.
He will next season, after he leads the Rams to a dominating Superbowl victory.

Where did you find those sunglasses homey? I swear I saw the Fish wearing some bangin Rams shades in a game this season.

Maybe this is what they were waiting for...Chud or Van Pelt. I'm intrigued with Van Pelt but I'd love to see Chud here.

Apologies @jap, it was a tongue in cheek comment. I should have used the blue font.

I keep reading Rams asked for permission to talk to this guy or that guy but have any dates been set? Has anybody come in for a visit?

Checking in on Rams' offensive coordinator search
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-ra...cking-in-on-rams-offensive-coordinator-search

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- Real, tangible news on the St. Louis Rams' search for an offensive coordinator has been difficult to uncover.

That's probably by the design of head coach Jeff Fisher, who surprised many last year when he and Gregg Williams solved whatever issues they had and reunited in St. Louis after Fisher relieved Tim Walton of his defensive coordinator duties.

After Brian Schottenheimer departed for the offensive coordinator job at Georgia, I wrote in this space that it's probably best not to expect Fisher's search to play out publicly or swiftly. That isn't how he's handled things in the past, and it again doesn't appear to be the case this time around.

Schottenheimer's departure came nearly two weeks ago, and to this point it's been hard to confirm any actual interviews taking place, though we do know of a few names the Rams have shown interest in or spoken to in some capacity. That list includes Greg Roman, Kyle Shanahan, Nathaniel Hackett and Adam Gase.

Roman never made it to a Rams interview, taking the coordinator job in Buffalo. The Rams requested an interview with Gase, but it's unknown if that will happen. He's received similar overtures from Atlanta, Jacksonville, Oakland and Chicago and interviewed for the head-coaching job in Denver, so he has no shortage of options. It appears he's also going to be a strong candidate in Baltimore after Gary Kubiak moves on to Denver and Jacksonville is in better position than many might realize after Gase interviewed there Sunday. Gase has family in the Jacksonville area.

Shanahan is a name that has obvious ties to Fisher, but he looks to be headed to Atlanta with Dan Quinn if and when the Falcons hire Quinn as head coach. That can't officially happen until after the Super Bowl but the Falcons can hire Shanahan before then.

A few others to keep an eye on include an in-house candidate in tight ends coach Rob Boras and Indianapolis special assistant Rob Chudzinski. Chudzinski is also expected to be a factor in San Francisco's search but NFL Network reported Monday morning that the Rams have asked for permission to interview Chudzinski. It was also thought that Fisher might have a surprise candidate or two up his sleeve in the form of a current position coach somewhere in the league. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams have requested permission to talk to Green Bay quarterback coach Alex Van Pelt, who would fit that bill.

It's possible more clarity could come this week as the Rams head to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. It's a place where plenty of NFL business gets taken care of, so even if the Rams don't nail down their next coordinator, other dominoes could fall that might ultimately help render a decision.

Oddly enough, I saw the thread, googled "rams aviators" and voila.:ROFLMAO:

probably best known a TE guru..he coached : Bubba Franks, Jeremy Shockey, and Kellen Winslow II in college, and Winslow and Shockey and Gates in the pros.
OC of Browns in 2007 (1 year only) - O ranked 8th (was replaced due to HC change to team)
OC of Panthers in 2011 - O ranked 7th (note that I did not find the 2010 ranking, but I believe it was very low - also note the was Cams rookie year)
OC of Panthers in 2012 - O ranked 12th
HC of Browns 2013 - team was 4-12, O was 17th.
Among other things this is impressive. I think I'm sold on Chud now... best candidate out there.

I don't think we're more appealing than the Bears to be honest. Will be tough to land him.

I can't help but think the biggest issue with us hiring an OC might be that Fisher wants his hand in the cookie jar, rather than giving the guys freedom to manager their O.

Rams want to interview Van Pelt, Chudzinski for OC job
• By Jim Thomas

http://www.stltoday.com/sports/foot...cle_ff597024-7927-53f8-9411-c5d793a05450.html

The Rams' deliberate search for an offensive coordinator picked up pace Monday when the team requested permission to interview a pair of candidates whose teams were eliminated Sunday in the NFL's conference championships games.

The Rams sent in a request on Green Bay quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt, and also on Rob Chudzinski, who was special assistant to head coach Chuck Pagano in Indianapolis.

Chudzinski, 46, was head coach of the Cleveland Browns in 2013 and has had previous NFL stints with Carolina, San Diego and the Browns as an assistant.

Van Pelt, 44, has spent the past three seasons with the Packers, having also worked for Buffalo and Tampa Bay.

Monday's developments bring to five the number of known candidates the Rams have either sought permission or been granted permission to interview. Two of them, Greg Roman (to Buffalo) and Kyle Shanahan (to Atlanta), have taken jobs elsewhere. Denver's Adam Gase is the other candidate, but he remains in the mix in Baltimore, Jacksonville, and Chicago.

Greg Olson, most recently with Oakland, and Nathaniel Hackett, most recently with Buffalo, also remain possibilities for the offensive coordinator job that opened when Brian Schottenheimer left to take the same position in the college ranks at Georgia earlier this month.

I read a good post by somebody on Rams Talk one day, a rarity. He has my vote.

First time I've heard his named mentioned, but Greg Olson has been my favorite offensive coordinator with the Rams since Mike Martz.

Olson hasn't done too well in any of his stops since then.

did pretty well in Tampa considering the circumstances - especially with what he got out of Josh Freeman as well... did damn good when he had talent (with us)

lately hasn't been so hot - but it's not like he was bad either in the mess that Oakland is

As the Ravens look for a new offensive coordinator, they’re talking to the guy their old one effectively replaced.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens are interviewing former Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase tonight.

The interview’s taking place in Baltimore, before the coaching staff heads to Arizona for the Pro Bowl.

Gase talked to his old bosses in Denver, but they hired former Ravens play-caller Gary Kubiak instead.

Gase has had interest all over the map, with the Bears, Raiders and Jaguars all in play at some level. But Baltimore might be quickest fix for a guy looking to polish up a resume before future head coaching interviews.

Yep. He is mediocre at best. Will be more of the same if he ends up with the job.

Don't want Olsen or Hackett, personally.
