Not a fan of this just like I wasn’t a fan of the Brown cut. But unlike the Brown cut I can see more reasons to cut Pharoh.

Scapegoats for Natson fumbling I guess..?

Interesting..like you guys said I'm sure something happened behind tbe scenes.

He also had 2 years to crack the wr depth and didnt do anything. Dont think the move hurts us , please just fair catch all punts and save us all the pain.
Problem is nobody touched Natson and he fumbled it, calling fair catches won’t help either. :/

I think McVay did this to wake the rest of the team up. “Do your job and do it well or we will release you”. They should now release a defensive guy to send a message to that unit.

I also think Cooper was replaceable, but I thought maybe they should have let him play WR some after Kupp was gone.

Really weird timing. My wild theory:

Pharoh, seizing on the timing of JoJo’s huge mistake Monday, walks into Bones office:

Pharoah: Coach, maybe try me back at punt returns?

Bones: No, Pharoh. I like what JoJo brings. I think we are going to stick with him. He made a mistake, but he’ll be ok. Thanks. We’ll keep you on kick returns.

Pharoah: (Dejected....circles back) Coach. You know what I can do. I’m not getting any time at receiver now, with Josh stepping up, and Hodge. Come on man. I’m Pro Bowl....

Bones: ...Pharoah. We not me, pal. I’m sorry. I’ve made my choice for now. You’ll get more opportunities.

Pharoah: ...well if that’s the case, maybe I should get an opportunity with someone else.

Bones: (knock knock knock)

McVay: Come in!

When I was at the Rams/Lions game, after Malcolm got hurt, Cooper was taking handoffs from Mannion on the sideline in case we needed him at RB.

After thinking about it, we really liked that idea. He'd be a better RB in the NFL than WR, ala Cordarelle Patterson.

As for why they cut him, I don't ever want him to return a kickoff, and maybe he pulled a Ty Montgomery on them..

Weird. Waiting to her more about this. Well, there's a roster spot open. Tre Mason anybody???!!!

Or Nick Williams is coming back.

This was my first thought. They gave Pharoh a chance to show something in practice in the passing game and still nothing. With the offense troubles with Kupp out I was thinking maybe they were looking for someone to roam the middle and take some pressure off of Woods. We need a safety valve and we need Goff to start using them when there.

But a RB probably makes more sense at the moment. Wouldn't be surprised to see Gurley used sparingly the next couple of weeks.

Who else is expecting to see "Arizona Cardinals nab Pharoh Cooper on waivers" in a couple of days? Or the Whiners.

Now teach the next man up to stay in the endzone instead of running sideways. I can count on one hand how many times we started past the 25 yard line . Plus the fact of getting a penalty
This! His decision making was awful. Countess was not getting dumped at the 15-20 every time he took it out of the end zone. Being a KR guy is about having awareness first and a big play guy 2nd. Cooper seemed determined to bring out kicks that should have been downed in the end zone. I think this was a not so subtle message to the clubhouse to do your job the way you were coached. Nice little wake up call for everyone freelancing.
