As I wasn't overly excited about resigning Sony. I do wonder why he retired. Maybe he felt he wasn't going to get a lot of PT. Five years in the NFL is something to be proud of while still being healthy.
McVay was quoted on what Michel told him was his body was telling him it was time.

Which McVay and myself find tasteful and appreciative.

Lots of vets still out there. Zeke, Fournette, K.Hunt, Cook, K.Drake…
Kareem Hunt (895 carries, 4.5 avg, 31 TDs) and Kenyon Drake (867 carries, 4.5 avg, 33 TD's ) would be my two choices. Both with low mileage and numerically good stats and averages. Either one seems to be a solid pickup.

Cooks wouldn't be bad but he has 500 more carries in his career.

Guess whoever agrees to the best team friendly deal would be the answer. We have around 9 mill right now in cap space.

I've been wrong before. I could be wrong again. But everything I see this offseason makes me think they have no plans to make a trade for a guy like Jonathan Taylor. Seems to me they're not gonna do anything that might limit their ability to build a legit contender next year. Even if they have to treat this season as a throw away year.

Things could change though. If they surprise everyone and look like a playoff contender, they might make a move before the deadline. But it should not be one of those one year rentals. It should be for someone they think they can bring back next year.

Michel retiring might be for the best. It will give Evans more snaps in practice and maybe games too. He needs to learn the nuances of playing his position in the NFL.

Think Irsay already said Taylor wasn't going anywhere. I'd say smart man, but I suspect his brains are pickled.
Maybe The Rams can get him for a 2nd rd pick. Liked they did to get Marshall.
When it comes to Marshall,I’m a shopper. Discount RB with All Pro skills. What’s not to like

Crazy to see a tale of 2 RB.
Michel and Chubb, teammates at UGA picked 4 spots apart in the 2018 draft
Begs the question of who's career would you rather have had?
Chubb, career earnings 40+ mill and in prime spot for another pay day but plays for Cleveland
Or
Sony Michel, career earnings of 11 mill, washed out of the league at 28 with 2 Superbowl Rings

It makes you wonder if the comparatively poor economics of the RB position will trickle down to the point where affects a young player's desire to play the position. Having a short lifespan and a lower average career income than kickers, will we start to see the athleticism of the position decline as players gravitate toward higher incomes and greater life expectancies of other positions?
