I didn’t say it’s impossible. I just don’t think it’s likely that they find 4-5 good starters every draft.
I don’t expect them to either—but that’s a good thing right now. The Rams don’t have that many spots so weak that an upgrade would be “easy”.
When I say, “easy” I’m talking about the difference between say, upgrading ILB vs LT.

I don’t think this draft is deep in areas that the Rams have major needs aside from maybe Tight end.

Corner has a few smart but not really athletic guys late. WR has a few guys and they will all be gone by the end of round 2. OT depth ends by the start of round 2. Edge depth is exaggerated, so finding Hoecht’s replacement isn’t likely unless they take one early.

To me this draft feels like one they had a few years ago where the Rams kept trading back because the few players they liked were all gone and they picked a bunch of filler, role players, and Dprcisl teams guys. I hope they nail their first pick and instead of trading back I hope they trade for some picks next year, but that lowers the odds of hitting on long shots this year.
What makes you say that about edge? Everything I've read is how deep edge is.

Rams have needs at:
  • Offensive Line: The Rams made a short-term commitment to left tackle Alaric Jackson, bringing him back on a three-year contract. That doesn’t solve everything, though, as right tackle Rob Havenstein is in his final contract year at age 33.
  • Defensive Back: Ahkello Witherspoon, Kamren Curl, Derion Kendrick, Quentin Lake, and Cobie Durant are all entering the final years of their contracts. If the Rams don’t add to the secondary this year, they could be in a bad spot in the 2026 offseason.
  • Wide Receiver: The addition of Davante Adams helps, but he might only be there for one year given the massive cap hit he carries in 2026. And Tutu is only on a one year deal.
This does not include future needs at: TE (isn't everyone pretty much gone next year), ILB, RB, DE (Young probably leaving) and QB.

Rams really could do with trading back and throwing picks in a class where the strength is talent 2-4 rounds.

NOW you’re speaking my language. Lol.
I want them stockpiling picks for next year’s draft (QB?).
Let the 9ers spend 11 picks on this mediocrity. The Rams don’t need that much this year.
