And that's literally it. He doesn't have good enough hands to take advantage of his speed, and he doesn't know how to run any route well except a go route, so he's a one-trick pony with a mediocre trick.

I'd rather see Van Jefferson in; at least he has the potential for more than Ross - and won't be a one-year rental.
It isn’t a choice between Jefferson and Ross. I’d love to see anyone run a go route right now. I’ve had enough of Reynolds and Everett and would gladly see this one trick pony get a shot than either of those 2.

As for the need for a “#1 receiver”?
Well, currently the Rams have 2 of them. They don’t need another

Do you really want to give up Everett for one year of a bust in Ross? I'd personally rather see a draft pick come our way for Everett. Not sure if we'll get a draft pick for Reynolds, but it's worth a shot.

And Ross is not the answer if we want a wide receiver with deep speed. He has speed, but no idea how to use it to his advantage. You're just trading for a year of a lesser Tavon.

how about we establish a run mentality, then any of our receivers can shine and move the ball. guy running a long speedy route needs a qb with enough time to see him and then get the ball there.

You’re not getting a draft pick for either. You’re asking why pick up a rental and that’s exactly why nobody wants 81 or 11. So why not swap an enigma for an enigma?
I’m fine if they don’t trade but Jefferson and Mundt should be taking over those spots because neither guy has a future with the club and their past isn’t pretty either

Would help if our running backs wouldn’t be hurt all the time.

It's also pretty funny that some are saying a speed guy is the #1 WR. This guy is not a #1 he may be fast but so was Renaldo Nehemiah. The fact he can't run routes and McVay will know this seeing as who his coach is will mean we don't trade for him.

Where, when, who has called John Ross a #1?
Or even a speed guy a #1?
I haven't seen anyone say anything like it but I could have missed it.

If Kwon Alexander - who has been injured most of the time for the Whiners - can get a draft pick, so too can Everett. I'm not so sure about Reynolds (he probably won't return a pick), but Everett would definitely return a draft pick, even if it's compensatory. I'm thinking it's time to see what Hopkins can do over Everett (I'm not expecting much, though.) along with Jefferson over Reynolds - that's why you're trading them in the first place.

Alexander is under contract for 2 more years, and has been a pro bowler. Everett and Reynolds have done next to nothing in their careers and are FA after the season. Not sure how its even comparable?

Alexander has been injured throughout his Whiner career and costs a ton of money. No, Everett and Reynolds haven't done much, and I even said that it wasn't likely that Reynolds could be traded, but Everett could easily be traded because he doesn't cost a ton of money and still has untapped potential.

Ross did run a 4.22 at the combine, that is superfast, and while not the best hands, he was all PAC his senoir year at Washington
train

Oh I would like to have his speed if it was cheap enough.

I’ve seen a half dozen people say it.

I agree that his speed would be nice to have but even the idea behind a #1 WR is kinda wrong. There's maybe 5 of those guys in the league.

I agree and the thought we don’t have a reliable WR is beyond silly. I think McVay would like a speed option but Ross has no hands can’t run routes and seems to be at odds with his coach. And with his coach being McVays boy I don’t think there’s any way we trade for him.
