Precisely. As much as he wasn’t ultimately a good fit in LA, he has talent and has started nearly two full seasons worth of games and thats not worth a sixth rd pick?
WTF.
Agreed , but you missed the point I was trying to make. With all due respect, none of those guys have done what Puka has during their first 5 games.
No, keep Noteboom as the primary backup to LT and RG. Oline depth is too valuable.Decisions for next year are being made weekly. Akers was given the opportunity to be the man this year and next year but he didn’t impress in off season or game 1 (22carries for 29 yds) so gone. Jefferson was given a chance to WR2 this year and beyond but Nacua/Atwell beat him out by a mile in week 1/2 so gone. Is Note next? Maybe but we do need enough OL to get Stafford thru the season so probably not.
Which is sad because he's also made 2 or 3 great contested catches where he got smacked by db's.I have seen Jefferson drop 3 or 4 passes in the first 5 games that would have been easy catches for Pucka or Kupp. The balls were right is his hands, the drops appeared to be caused by a lack of concertation or fear of getting hit.
Just a side note. The 2020 draft was pretty poor, all round, once the first 50 players had been drafted. We took one of the best players after that in Jordan Fuller at 199. ... We should have draft Tyler Biadasz ... Other than that there wasn’t much else. Akers and Jefferson ...
I really wanted Snead to pick Antonio Gibson and Logan Wilson. They had other options.Just a side note. The 2020 draft was pretty poor, all round, once the first 50 players had been drafted. We took one of the best players after that in Jordan Fuller at 199. We have 4 UFAs still on the team. We should have draft Tyler Biadasz (who Jrry was on point for) when he inexplicably fell to Dallas. Other than that there wasn’t much else. Akers and Jefferson though never great we’re better than most others
Again. They started on the SuperBowl winning team
Yeah there were a bunch of other players to pick, especially at RB.I don't know about that. Included in the 25 picks after Akers (#52) and Jefferson (#57), there were Jalen Hurts, RBs J.K. Dobbins, A.J. Dillon and Antonio Gibson, DL Raekwon Davis and Justin Madubuike, LBs Logan Wilson and Willie Gay, Edge players Josh Uche and A.J. Epenesa, S Jeremy Chinn and OL Jonah Jackson, Ezra Cleveland and Damien Lewis.
Exactly! Most of them are not elite talent let’s face it! You have made the same point without meaning tooI don't know about that. Both good players no doubt but Jefferson started every game in Los Angeles' 2021-22 championship season, setting career highs with 50 catches for 802 yards and six touchdowns before catching four passes in the Super Bowl.I really wanted Snead to pick Antonio Gibson and Logan Wilson. They had other options.
Saying that a player started on a Super Bowl team doesn’t always equate to them being really good. I wouldn’t say every player on that roster was good.

Even if we accept your point, how many around here would have cried murder if we had spent a 2nd on Hurts? Akers didn’t work out but a while before his injury he looked like a pro bowler in the making
He's got talent but he also has flaws that two years of Pro coaching haven't been able to fix. One is inconsistency, the other fighting the ball into his hands.Precisely. As much as he wasn’t ultimately a good fit in LA, he has talent and has started nearly two full seasons worth of games and thats not worth a sixth rd pick?

I don’t disagree per se but when Jefferson was helping us win a Super Bowl Uche and even Wilson (who looked elite vs us) were still developing. Should we have sacrificed the present back then for our future right now? Some of those haven’t done a lot lately either. Dillon for example has under 200 yards and 1 touchdown.I don't agree at all. Elite? Other than Wilson, I agree that none are elite players.
However, I think most of the players listed have been better and are better right now than Akers and Jefferson.
I think many would be starters on this Rams' roster; and would not be traded for late-round pick-swaps.
Logan Wilson is an excellent off-ball-LB. He would be the Rams' second best defensive player, after Donald.
Uche or Epenesa would be the Rams' top Edge players.
A.J. Dillon would be a power-RB the Rams have not had since Gurley.
Gibson would be an excellent 3rd-down-back.
Davis and Madubuike would be starters over what the Rams have on the D-Line next to Donald.
Chinn would be their best Safety.
Jackson would be a starting OL.
Gay would be starting inside, next to Jones.
Akers and Jefferson had their moments; and did contribute. Neither were Busts in my opinion. However, any of the players listed above would have represented better draft choices ... again, in my opinion.
I really wanted Biadasz too. I was so pissed when they took Hopkins instead.Just a side note. The 2020 draft was pretty poor, all round, once the first 50 players had been drafted.
