Agree with everything, but I hope and pray that the light comes on for Brown, he has the ability to play, but hasn't performed well enough, same for Havenstein this year, and we have very little depth showing at the OT position. I really don't even understand why Murphy got so many looks at RT. I know Donnal is hurt, but is there anyone else on the roster who could possibly get snaps there?
Donnal and Whichman are the only two that come to mine. Unless we put Williams there, I know he's the backup at LT but we won't need him there :D

I was hoping that Williams would get reps at RT. I think Donnal would have been fine, but we haven't seen him. If we don't get better, then we will be in trouble.

Also for the record I think Eldrenkamp is the long term answer at Center so we could scratch that off the list but the rest of the line as we've all seen could use some depth and replacements/successors.

Whitworth isn't getting younger and will only have 2 more years on his current deal.
Saffold is injury prone and will be turning 30 (if that doesn't scare people I don't know what will) and will be going into the final year of his deal.
Sullivan is only signed for 2017, has had recent injuries and will be 33.
Everybody on this board would kick Brown to the curb in a heartbeat right now if there was a viable replacement and is signed through 2018.
Nobody is really happy with Rob Havenstein right now. He's coming off an injury plagued 2016 and has struggled this year and is signed only through 2018.

OLine is our #1 priority after this season.

I like Williams upside. He is really young still. Donnal maybe gets better.
I get what your saying. I know it is a weakness in depth right now as well.Makes sense , but so does CB ?

Difference I see with CB and OLine though is there are free agents we would like to sign. Even our Oline guys that aren't free agents we need to replace. So Webster is signed through 2019 as is Jordan and Peterson who have been quality depth and shown promise which we can't say for most of our OLine players. Penton and John Johnson (who has CB experience in college and I believe played some this camp) are signed longer. Joyner stays at FS but we have depth there too with Countess Christian and Johnson who I just mentioned at CB so FS I'm not as worried about. SS Alexander could be resigned. The biggest thing with me wanting to retain Joyner and Alexander is IMO they'd be better value to resign than replacement OLine that are any good.

If we're able to resign NRC I think it's in a better position going into 2018 than the OLine where I really only like Whitworth and Eldrenkamp going forward. Just my opinion and a lot can change between now and the end of the season. Brown and Havenstein can turn it around. Whichman and/or Donnal can turn it around and stay healthy. Saffold and Sullivan can stay healthy and we resign Sully cheaply. But that's a hell of a lot of if's and more than I'd be comfortable with. Again it can all change and this is way to early to really say what will happen but right now I think long term for the club the most important thing is an OT in the 1st to start at RT or RG and learn from Whitworth. We have to protect Goff and open holes for Gurley or the best secondary in NFL history won't win us games.

Could be but right now the team is missing the caliber of DBs that Phillips prefers. I doubt Tru sticks around, and OLB or CB ends up being priority number one. Kromer has had success with second , third and later round Olinemen. Plus they may like some Oline free agent or two which comes cheaper than a shutdown corner or OLB that can get to the QB.

So McRoberts as a 7th WR is more valuable than one of Everett or Higbee? I'd maybe keep him over Harkey but personally I'm keeping Everett, Higbee, Hemingway and Wilson over him. I never understood the fascination with McRoberts or Spruce (he had one exciting game). We have WR's that can do what those 2 do and they do more.
Everett and Higbee are on the roster if the Rams kept 4 WRs or 9 WRs, sort of silly to say keeping McRoberts would mean one of them would be replaced somehow.
True in terms of having other guys at WR.
McRoberts to me is a big receiver who gets open when he has played.
But Wilson has done nothing (same with McRoberts) and is a repeat of a guy like Higbee.
I see nothing special in Hemingway....although McVay liked him so that's a good sign for sure. I am assuming he is out for the season sadly, so, no one is taking his "spot" so to speak.
Keeping 2 QBs only.
I see 7 O lineman worth keeping.
Just a matter of opinion on a players potential value. I see it in McRoberts others see it in a guy like Wilson....both may be wrong. Both are bottom of the roster kinds of guys.
Thomas comes back from suspension and is deemed better than him, let him go.
Find a cut O lineman who can provide better depth, cut him loose.
I'm not married to the idea, but, I get it.

I'm totally OK with McBob getting cut. Simply said, he wasn't good enough to make our roster. Shake didn't have a chance. No surprises so far. Justin Davis is way more explosive than Green, and he brings something a little different than what we've had.
I would say Davis makes a guy like Dunbar expendable....I assume he nots playing this year anyway....but, Davis really has to clean up his pass blocking.

He does, but that was a tough one last game, guy to the left, or guy right up the middle. He can't block both.

Yeah - to keep building on that structure is a good idea. I like & trust Kromer in finding a solid lineman.I think his son is gaining good experience as well. I liked watching them scouting together.
-- I also like the fact he trusted the players The Rams have right now. They
did pick up Sullivan & Whitworth.

Brown I think is just going to improve. My thing from last weeks game(Chargers) was Brown left with the first team. Big Rob Havenstien was still out there & had trouble in the game. --Plus Kromer brought him inside & put Brown out there.Good cross trading , but both found there spots again.
I think The Rams coaching staff has a knowledge of this team. I'm curious how this all works out. I think long time Ram fans have been waiting for the offensive line just to get this far with the first team.
Always good to add depth.

--I like your call on Petterson.

Had Blythe been doing pretty well this preseason?

On the Post-Dispatch Rams Talk there is a post saying that Marquez and Thomas have been cut.

I can't find any confirmation though.

No reason to cut Thomas though as he won't count against the roster until game 5.

That site is still active? I dont even have it bookmarked on this computer, havent been there in years.
