They've done it before and it hasn't been an issue.
I just don't think Jones does anything that any number of RBs on other PS can't do.
They have done it before with a guy who gets dinged as much as Hendo and a rookie that can't pass block and has had as many injuries as Funk? McVay has done this? Interesting

I hope the Rams pick up Lions linebacker Jahlani Tavai.
Wouldn't be averse to them signing him to the PS for a while to get a look at him. Quinn made a good call to have him lose weight, I think he was too heavy for the NFL. I do like his physicality he just needs to move better.

Gurley, Brown and Henderson.

And, again, it's an initial 53. Jones doesn't solve any of the problems you mentioned. JAG.

Not even remotely close. None of them had the Funk injury history, Hendo hadn't developed the injuries yet.

Well there's always a surprise for me. Meaning I always misread the Rams' intent somewhere. This year it's Anchrum.

Gonna be interesting to see if I misread his ability too. Because I think he's a really good backup. IF that is true some team will claim him. If not, well, I'm gonna go try to get a job at Turfshowtimes, maybe they need a janitor.

Hell yeah! Is it weird that this is the only position I was concerned about today?
He did offer one bonus...keeping him saved a roster spot for the final cutdown. It allowed them to cone up with a punter free final 53, then they can IR a player fron that 53, and then add back Hekker. Otherwise maybe A.Jackson, Hoecht or J.Williams would have been exposed to waivers

I would think that our #2 QB availability status as of late last season & what occurred to him in preseason......along with the fact the Rams now have a veteran QB who has had a lot of past injuries.......If I were Snead I would keep Perkins as my 3rd QB too over soft turnstile OL'er Bobby Evans anytime.
And if our offensive line is so banged up to the point that it needs Bobby Evans, we better have a scrambler in the backfield at quarterback.

Bobby Evans has almost regressed to the point of being this year's Demby.

there are few things WORSE than a GDT, lol....unless the Rams kill it from whistle to whistle of course....
Excellent advice on the Rams killing it would be fun!

I tried the game day thread one time and I ended up putting a poster on ignore he was so irritating.

Doesn't change the fact I disagree with people who think keeping only 3 backs is a good idea.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't Rams only dress 3 RB's on game days? Seems pretty easy to have your 4th RB on the practice squad. For me, the way X Jones got blown up on that play attempting to pass block (giving up a sack) meant he wasn't a "must protect" guy.

The #4 RB never plays. They can stash #4 on the PS and protect him week to week from poachers.

Very disappointed that Anchrum and T-Jax didn't make it. Especially over Evans. Anchrum deserved that spot over Evans, and personally, I'd have gone with two quarterbacks.

Anchrum struggled in his run blocking and IMO that is a major hurdle for him. He projects as a RG maybe a RT but in either position he needs to be strong in the run game which he showed he isn't. He should clear waivers and get signed to the PS if they still want him.

3 QBs is the COVID reality nowadays. Even without COVID I honestly think they would keep Perkins over Wolford simply because he has a much higher ceiling. So I look at it as COVID will give them a reason to keep Wolford. In 2022 Wolford is a ERFA so they will simply tender a min contract and keep him. Bryce will be under contract. In 2023 is when it will get interesting. Wolford will be a Restricted Rights FA which means they either tender him or they would have needed to extend him under a regular contract before the end of 2022. I doubt they tender him so he could easily move on. Bryce will be a ERFA so they control him for another year. That is why regardless of COVID Perkins would probably have been their choice over Wolford IMO. Perkins gives them a quality backup for a year longer than Wolford.

In 2024 Perkins will give them trade bait to a QB needy team or they can try to extend him during 2023 on a backup level multiyear contract with the lure of a possible follow-on start after Stafford much like Taysom Hill did with the Saints. Everyone assumes that Stafford will play another 7-10 yrs, but there is no way to really know that. Perkins gives them a plan B option through 2023. IMO you want your QB to be more than just a bandaid. I see a good player in Wolford but I don't see a franchise level QB in him. Perkins at least has that potential. A few more years as a backup and he could be pretty good.

Hoecht looks like the rotational 3T behind AD. Jonah Williams looks like a classic 3-4 DE with speed and power. What Williams gives them is the option to move Lewis to play in rotation behind Floyd while Williams plays in rotation with Hollins. Jonah is that Brockers replacement IMO not Robinson, as Williams can play 3T and 5T. Robinson can play 1T and 3T and it remains to be seen if he can be effective outside of 3T.

Regardless, I see this team moving in the right direction.
