Coach seems a little agitated today.
He just seems a little worn down.

It’s a grind.

I also think the Noteboom
Questions might be annoying him though. I think he’s trying to keep the noteboom situation private and Jourdan keeps hounding him about it.

If these numbers are correct I don't think trading Noteboom is a good option. That's a lot of dead money next year, it wouldn't make much sense to eat a bunch of dead cap this season to clear it up for next year only to start eating at it.

He was held out with an undisclosed injury, and now he's doing some drills. It's not uncommon for them to be cautious with an injured vet. I get the question marks surrounding the vagueness of his injury but to me it seems an injury is more likely than a trade. Who would pick him up anyway?

I think we will see what the 53 roster will look like by who isn't playing in this game.
That's not how the final preseason game works :) At this point McVay knows who is on the roster with very very few exceptions.

Sure as heck sounds like it. Supposedly healthy player not practicing due to an "undisclosed" injury.

Boom with a 20M cap hit in 2024, yikes.

Really hard to imagine they could get anything for him with that contract right now. Maybe one of those "let's swap 7th rounders just please take on his contract" type deals.

Then again, maybe he has a slight nagging injury and they're trying to be careful with him. But it sure smells like he's on the trade block.
Wow 20 mil? What a dumb ass move to extend him.

I can't say I understand cap implications that well, but here's an excerpt from RamsWire article about Noteboom trade speculation:

"If the Rams were to trade Noteboom, they would save $1.5 million in cap space this year, $5 million in 2024 and $10 million in 2025. If that doesn’t sound like a move the Rams would strongly consider, I don’t know what does. After all, they’re focused on clearing money in 2024 and 2025."

I'd agree that the Rams couldn't get much in return for Noteboom, but it sounds to me like the cap savings might be worth it despite the dead money hit?

They restructured him five months ago, in order to get under the salary cap. I believe they made it so Boom has a smaller cap hit in 2023 but a larger hit in 2024.

Yeah but I blasted it then and even more now because he hasn't locked down any starting job. Unfortunately, I'm going to guess that the Rams will try to start him somewhere as opposed to admitting they fucked up here hence why he's been moved around.

Snead really screwed the pooch with this extension but he probably did know that he was going to be in the Tub all the time!

Boom was probably the cheapest LT option when Whit retired, but at least they made the deal short so he can prove himself.

He usually knows by now. But there could be a couple guys he wants to see more of. My guess is the game will be a combination of guys auditioning for other teams or the practice squad and a few guys who will be on the 53 but need more game experience.
