Austin has played in the NFL for 4 seasons. Yes Fisher and company share blame in his lack of production, but Austin has to own the majority of it. His poor route running has hurt him and the team.
Lol the 8 touchdowns that the team lost for him hurt the team more

Did he though? He's the only player that can literally line up everywhere

Well considering they added a better WR that will be playing the position he was mainly expected to play, um yea i think its fair to say he lost a lot of snaps. not saying hes now a reserve that will only play when someone gets hurt, but im pretty sure the new lineup is watkins, woods, kupp not to mention the 2 TE heavy sets.

Let Tavon get a receiving TD, A rushing TD and a TD on a return tomorrow night against Dallas, and then see IF someone is interested!(y);)

Then again, who would want to trade him then!!:D

What the fuck? Apparently this shouldn't have been the first thread i clicked and read today. We traded for Watkins? holy balls.

According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk on NBC Sports, the Rams aren't shopping Tavon Austin.
There was speculation Austin could be dealt after the Rams acquired Sammy Watkins from Buffalo on Friday, but multiple outlets have confirmed that isn't the case.

This is the sports media news cycle. Talking head says "well now that the Rams got Watkins do they really need Austin?" then the next guy says it makes sense to trade him and it goes from there.

Seriously guys..........is all this shit not obvious?

When you hear "specualation" it ALWAYS means the sports news media is making up a story. Always.

Its about this season.

I don't think everything is about this season as you say.

Tavon will probably find a lot more room this year - defenses can't focus on him anymore at all.

With the shit play design and throwing him the ball at or behind the LOS with the defenses crowding the LOS because OF the consistent play design being changed yes he will have a lot more room.

And Watkins, if he can get on the field 16 games, will add to that.

IMO his poor route running is real, but over blown.

It's been the sophomoric play designs that have been the biggest issue.

Think about this........where are the last 3 or 4 guys who have designed and implemented the Rams offenses and called plays?

That will tell you all you need to know.

We may be seeing Tavon on his way out. I'd be sad if so because I love watching him so much with the ball in his hands, and I know he works hard.

We may also be seeing Tavon put up one of those 500+ all purpose yard games like he did against Oklahoma.

We've already been seeing Todd and Malcolm Brown being played out wide. Now you have that with Tavon in the Backfield and another wide out in Sammy. Not too mention the plethora of other guys.

Stay healthy Sammy. Also, realize you want to be a Ram.

I'm sure they're waiting to see if a WR goes down in preseason for another team... and then we'll see if they don't have a chat with someone.

Thanks coach.

I’ll expect the incoming from DeSean Jackson fans who were Jones-ing for him when on the trade block and this is not to diminish his skills or value but I’m glad to have Tavon and look forward to seeing him in a REAL offense. Tavon is not the deep threat but I haven’t seen DJax take a handoff up the middle and end up in the endzone. Tavon is a RB, PR, and Slot guy but in the mix with Watkins, Kupp, Woods, and Cooper? He’ll drive Defenses nutz.

They couldn't trade him if the wanted to...Nobody would touch his contract...I will say that I'm moving toward the camp that thinks unless they figure how to use him (or he somehow turns into Superman of his own volition) I might seriously consider getting rid of his contract next year once it's financially feasible...I wouldn't have thought I'd ever say that until very recently...

So did I miss it when the Rams said he was slotted in at the #1 WR position? I am looking for TA to be used effectively - not just be on the field for X number of snaps.

The Rams aren't outwardly shopping Tavon. He's available though, for a price.

So is everything on the planet.

A team that has an O that is creative would love to have him. In two years his contract could look like a bargain you know.

He definitely lost snaps. He lost them when Woods came in, and when they drafted Kupp. He lost them when McVay was hired too, tbh, due to the TE involvement. Watkins coming in is another huge tell, we simply have to allow ourselves to see it.

All that aside, though, I will admit that if there ever were a player who could have huge impact in very few touches it's a guy like him.

think the Pats would trade Garropolo for Austin straight up?
