Thank God! I was never a Ficken fan. Santos wasn't who I was hoping we'd grab but I'm happy to have him over Ficken

The Los Angeles Rams are making another kicker change as they wait for Greg Zuerlein to get healthy.

The Rams waived stand-in Sam Ficken and signed veteran Cairo Santos, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday.

L.A. also worked out Kai Forbath on Tuesday but opted to go with Santos.

Santos went 4 of 5 in spot duty for the Bears and Chiefs last season and spent 2014-2016 as Kansas City's main place kicker.

On Monday, coach Sean McVay said there was a chance Zuerlein could return for Week 5 against the Seahawks. The kicker moves indicate the team remains in wait-and-see mode.

The Rams signed Ficken earlier this month after Zuerlein suffered a groin injury in Week 2. In two games, the 25-year-old Ficken missed two of three field-goal attempts, including one in Thursday night's win that kept the Minnesota Vikings within striking distance.

With a loaded roster, the kicking situation has been L.A.'s lone weakness. They'll attempt to try to patch the leak before Zuerlein's return.

And as soon as Santos misses a field goal or an extra point, the ROD mob will be calling for his head.

So I suppose that answers the question about whether Zuerlein would be suiting up this Sunday.

L.A. Rams added two players to its practice squad on Tuesday: edge rusher Ja'Von Rolland-Jones and defensive back Linden Stephens.

ER Ja'Von,Rolland-Jones
is the most accomplished pass rusher in FBS history, but teams will have to decide how to balance his production against his level of competition. Rolland-Jones may be smaller than teams would like on the edge, but his rush skill and instincts are beyond what many rushers come into the league with. Rolland-Jones posted extremely disappointing speed, quickness and explosion numbers between his Combine and pro day. While he has the consistency of production on the collegiate level, there is now a big concern that his level of competition helped him to post numbers that won't translate into the league

CB Linden Stephens
is a little light for an outside spot and may have to move inside into a slot cornerback role, but he appears to have the foot quickness needed to make the move. While Linden shows the necessary quick-twitch and athleticism to handle man coverage and make plays underneath, he could improve with better route anticipation. His experience as a core special teams member could swing a late roster spot in his favor.

Additionally, the Rams have waived outside linebacker Carlos Thompson — who was on injured reserve. And the club has cut defensive end Marcus Martin from the practice squad.

As long as Santos doesnt ficken miss short FGs and PATs he will not be ficken cut before GZ is back.

Since when did 6'0" 192lbs become too small to play the outside CB position? Several now playing the outside CB are that size with some being even smaller.

Best wishes to Ficken. He'd probably be an upgrade to Sturgis across the way.

Fingers crossed on Santos -- hoping he doesn't re-re-re-re-re-injure that groin before GZ returns.

And the single bar helmet LOL

Single face bar helmet reminds me of maybe the only guy who played without one when I was pretty new to football...Tommy McDonald who recently passed away...When I remember him he was with the Eagles...My first thought was: Wow this guy must have titanium balls the size of church bells...

Meh. Fine with me. I’m still with the idea McVay and Bones make more informed decisions than us fans. Of course the fans are going to hit on a pick/player move on occasion. It’s just not something I’m going to rely on as a standard.
