Yes. I’m not satisfied with the OL as a whole. KW had little room to work and Stafford was under duress way too much. Ajax and Durant looked like they held their own but not the rest.
My worry is Stafford surviving the lineup of defensive fronts in the games ahead.

I dont disagree with what you are saying necessarily, I just dont see what it has to do with playing starters in pre-season.
Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't. Personally I think there is a correlation. But I also think we have bigger OL problems, for example I don't think our OL coach is up to snuff for this staff, we suck at drafting the position, etc. But again, it is first world problems because nobody can mask a shitty OL with scheme like McVay can.

Getting off subject, anyone worry about Shelton's horrible play and rating in this game? Chicago let him go, we paid 12 mil. And he was terrible at center. No one is taking about it. Is that as expected performance from him by the coaching staff? 57 - 59 rating. Not so good. Go, Rams!
It’s the first game. I’m not worried. We all know he’s not a great center but his value is in his experience and brain. Making the right line calls isn’t measured by PFF. If it continues through game six then maybe I’d get worried.

My sentiments exactly.

Judging by the eyeball test, the team in general and the OL do look a little rusty when the season starts but it's not hurting us with losses so I'd rather not risk major injury.

The approach could be reevaluated if they start seasons with losses.
And the question is, how less rusty would the oline look with preseason work? Lots of olines didn't look great to start the season this season and previous ones.

This is a trend league wide with good teams, expect to see more of this sprinkled in here and there. Pure drop back not from gun, LBs are unaccustomed to their proper drops nor reads as teams haven't been doing this for so long (mostly PA, gun, etc...) and opens up room for poor spacing in the middle of the field even though he went outside here.

Watched replay today and noticed more holding by their O linemen. Like blatant, long term fistful of jersey with the shoulder pad jutting out and players obviously unable to move naturally kinds of holding.
Maybe this has already been stated before, but there were at least 2 non calls for helmet to helmet the Puce took, with the first one damn near requiring stitches. Usually they don't miss that call, regardless of whether or not it was an intentional hit.

Did it seem to anyone else that the Texans were head hunting the Rams WRs yesterday? Outside of Puka getting stitches, it felt like our guys were getting hit high and late all game.
High yes. Illegal no.

I’ll give the OL until game 3 to settle down then I’ll be calling for an infusion of stability. Can’t have Stafford scrambling for his life or on his ass all season.

.

Freaking idiots.

That must have happened a section or two above us and more toward the center of end zone but we never saw it. We never saw or heard about it. Mostly it was really loud Rams fans surrounding the few Texans fans. They seemed to be behaving themselves.
