I somewhat agree. I think Ferg has more separation quickness than you're crediting him with, but he is a build-up speed guy. He can separate in the intermediate and deep passing game, but he's going to have to box out defenders and win contested catches in the short passing game (against M2M). Klare is kind of the opposite. He doesn't have breakaway speed, but he has great separation quickness in the short and intermediate games. Accelerates quickly too, which allows him to open up on seam routes in the 15-25 yard range.

I see Klare's ceiling as Zach Ertz. I think Ferg is more like Tucker Kraft.
I’ll take an offense that has an Ertz level + a Kraft level TE. With Nacua and a WR2 replacement for DAdams this year and we might just get Staffords interest for 3 more years.

In this case, it's not really about the stats for me.

Personally, I like Klare more as a prospect because of what he offers as a receiver going back to his Purdue tape. Klare dominated the target share of that offense as that shifty slot TE archetype with lateral agility to create separation in the route and acceleration to create YAC. I like Ferguson for what he is as a straight line seam route athlete at Y TE, but he's kind of a long stride, lumbering type without much suddenness or agility to create separation outside of the scheme. Most likely they'll both have a role to play in the future and could complement each other well.
Not sure I would describe the fastest TE of his draft as... lumbering.

Look to CJ Daniels to make some noise there as a potential successor. I'm not sure about his ability to separate down the field but he does have the opportunity to win reps at WR3 this year with his size, route running ability, impressive hands, and a knack for the spectacular catch.

This draft may have only had 5 picks but I have high hopes for all of them after some time to reflect.

I guess I don't see how Ferguson isn't as athletic or more and just as capable of doing everything Klare can but that's just me I guess.
I think it is more about how each of these guys look. While Ferguson has been timed faster he looks slow and lumbering. Klare looks like he is hauling ass and twitchier. Maybe thats just me.

I agree and that jives with what McVay has said about him and how he was used.
Actually, if he steps up, he might be our #2 pass catcher, or #3 behind Nacua & Parkinson. Adams to me will be a specialist in the redzone, and maybe on key 3rd downs.
