Of the last 20 CCG losers (2015-2024), 14 had 10 win+ season the following year. 13 won their division. 1 won the Super Bowl. The average win total was 10.9 (10.6 in the NFC; 11.3 in the AFC).

Of the last 14 CCG losers (2018-2024), 11 had 10 win seasons and 9 won their division. The average win total was 11.8 (12.0 in the NFC; 11.6 in the AFC).

Odds are good the Rams are going to have a decent season.

The Rams being the overwhelming favorite, naturally, the assumption is the pressure must be huge. If it's not, that could indicate the team is extremely confident (or much worse, cocky). However, since it's outside noise, shouldn't it be easy to ignore?

"Focus. Just do my job, work as hard as I possibly can, keep driving towards the goal." Maybe.

Even if they are focused and they don't feel any pressure what-so-ever, I'd think as the season unfolds, the pressure may begin and once the playoffs start, increase. They'll have arrived at that point where it either ends or they do what Vegas thought they would.

I just got Shatz's 2026 FTN Football Almanac and the first 2 paragraphs on the Rams section made me smile.....

One primary goal of analytics is to stay ahead of the curve. Statistical analysts, in football and other fields, hope to outperform the marketplace and outsmart conventional wisdom by identifying and exploiting trends before everyone else catches up to them. Here in the FTN/DVOA family, we think we do a pretty good job staying one step ahead of the curves. But staying one step ahead of the NFL curve usually means getting stuck one step behind the Los Angeles Rams.

I just realized that there really aren't that many players on the 2026 team that won the Super Bowl at SoFi.

Off the top of my head there's Stafford. Jackson. Higbee. Is that it?

This team really needed McDuffie and Watson's Championship experience.
