This here is why I was adamant about not being bothered if Simpson did not start the season at QB2.

Has less to do with Simpson than it does with Stetson.

I could see Ty being QB3 for a year. 1 year only. 2nd year if Stetson were to keep progressing, and as long as Stafford returns, Stetson would be traded and Simpson MUST be QB2.

To me there's Stafford and the others. Doesn't matter how they're numbered. I'd love both of them to be able to navigate a game but certainly I wouldn't expect it. It's not something I want to know in the near future anyway. So, I won't be upset if Simpson is #3 and Bennett is #2. Hopefully, the OL keeps that part of the equation irrelevant.
