This does not make me feel better knowing it's the Jets.
But.... Again.... What's the point of telling someone they were wrong in 3 years for not crying over a pick? I am a "Pollyana" fan that likes every pick we make until they prove not to be good players. Ain't nobody got time to listen to random people on a fan board tell me I'm "wrong" for being optimistic. It's just.... So..... Silly.I think the concept of eating crow in Tano's case is admitting you were wrong once we actually know what Simpson is. I would fully admit that if Simpson does well I commend him and was wrong because I didn't think he could do it. I'm not going to change up and be like, oh dude is great when I'm on record saying I think his ceiling is that of a career backup. That's fake admiration. Regardless of my thoughts, I'll be rooting for him to be successful anytime I see him in a Rams uniform playing because well its the Rams. Now if he doesn't do well, Tano's basically saying those that praised him should simply admit they were wrong. Don't worry, I'll remind y'all if you are but best believe its going to be in a way where I'm more so upset for us as Rams fans because I want to always see this team succeed.
Why would the Jets pick Simpson when they arguably can have any QB in the next draft with the haul of picks they have and a roster that may be bad enough to win the 1st overall pick. This does not make me feel better knowing it's the Jets.
No one is saying anything about crying over a pick, just saying shit guess I was wrong about that dude is more than enough. Its football, fans talk about misses all the time, some more so than others. I mean look at what happened with Creed. Its ok, you're admitting you're a homer with every pick, nothing wrong with that. If you don't want to hear that on a fan board of all places, why not just put everyone on ignore that is eternally optimistic just like you? Lol......just mostly poking fun at you now, so don't take that last part too seriousBut.... Again.... What's the point of telling someone they were wrong in 3 years for not crying over a pick? I am a "Pollyana" fan that likes every pick we make until they prove not to be good players. Ain't nobody got time to listen to random people on a fan board tell me I'm "wrong" for being optimistic. Jets I think will still get an option at a top QB in next year's draft because well they suckWhy would the Jets pick Simpson when they arguably can have any QB in the next draft with the haul of picks they have and a roster that may be bad enough to win the 1st overall pick.
Their new OC is Frank Reich. Who as an OC and gameplanner knows what he's doing. So that doesn't worry me.This does not make me feel better knowing it's the Jets.
If there is any rookie QBs that were picked after Simpson that perform pretty well, gonna make that Simpson pick get questioned more. Not saying its right or wrong, but thats the reality.Their new OC is Frank Reich. Who as an OC and gameplanner knows what he's doing. So that doesn't worry me.
What will annoy me is if Klubnik, who they moved up for in round 4, ends up being a good starter. Because I preferred him due to his pocket feel with the rush and mobility, on top of the fact we would have had our 13 overall pick for the playoff run.
That leads to people hoping he fails just so they can be right, even though it sucks for the team they support.I guess I don't get why it matters. Most of us will be right and wrong in our opinions over time. Let's just hope he's right and move on. There's almost nothing more boring than "I told you so".
But will it happen? Yes, it has literally happened with every single miss or hit. It gets discussed one way or the other. Its inevitable.I guess I don't get why it matters. Most of us will be right and wrong in our opinions over time. Let's just hope he's right and move on. There's almost nothing more boring than "I told you so".
That's probably true. Why would the Jets pick Simpson when they arguably can have any QB in the next draft with the haul of picks they have and a roster that may be bad enough to win the 1st overall pick.
Not all people think that way. I hope I'm wrong about Simpson and will root him on to do so in the process. I'd hate to be discussing him as a disappointment but I would discuss it nonetheless because he's part of Rams lore, good or bad. That leads to people hoping he fails just so they can be right, even though it sucks for the team they support.
And there goes my point about misses will always be discussed. Gotta take the good with the bad.But I will say I am still upset they signed Tutu for $10M when we should have signed a decent CB instead. That kept us from a superbowl imho.
I won't be over that for awhile.
Having to hear from Seahawks fans saying over and over - we beat you and won the superbowl because of it just irks me.
Uhh, yeah, kinda like if we waited til '27 Draft to get our QB, no???And there is the million, or is it billion thanks to inflation, dollar question that we won't know for quite some time. Will we just contend with Simpson, will he develop into a bonafide star leading us to the promise land, will he stink? Rams are taking a calculated risk for sure so TBD.
Pretty much the question for any QB......the question is even bigger when a QB is drafted higher than anticipated and won't play for quite some time when the team drafting is ready to win a Superbowl right nowUhh, yeah, kinda like if we waited til '27 Draft to get our QB, no???
Jets also wanted Brett Favre, 1 pick after Falcons took him, FWIW.This does not make me feel better knowing it's the Jets.
Sure it is, Chap. Sure it is.....Pretty much the question for any QB......the question is even bigger when a QB is drafted higher than anticipated and won't play for quite some time when the team drafting is ready to win a Superbowl right now
Sorry, the truth hurts. It's literally the main debate over the pick for opposite sides of the aisle. Again, the Rams took a calculated risk, hopefully it pays off.....and it's Chapo not chap, I'm not BritishSure it is, Chap. Sure it is.....
We have both been around long enough to know that the above is Not-a-Given.Why would the Jets pick Simpson when they arguably can have any QB in the next draft with the haul of picks they have and a roster that may be bad enough to win the 1st overall pick.
Soooo, you dont think the 2027 Rams will be in a position to "win the Super Bowl right now?" Same as 2026? Why Draft the Quarterback then, coming from a lower draft slot?Sorry, the truth hurts. It's literally the main debate over the pick for opposite sides of the aisle. Again, the Rams took a calculated risk, hopefully it pays off.
Rams could have added someone that will see the field this year and could be impactful this year. If there's a player in the 1st round that balls out at a position that could have strengthened the Rams chances this upcoming year and the Rams fall short again, you can bet your ass the media and some fans are gonna have a field day with that one. I get it may not be fair in the long term view for Simpson, but that's reality. 2027, we have quite a few big signings/decisions to make so that team may not be as loaded as this year. Lastly, who said anything about drafting a QB? Stafford may play much longer, Rams could have traded for a player if they didn't draft a QB, who knows? If you paid attention, I'm part of the go get that Superbowl now crowd and worry about the future QB when you get there.Soooo, you dont think the 2027 Rams will be in a position to "win the Super Bowl right now?"
