I think the concept of eating crow in Tano's case is admitting you were wrong once we actually know what Simpson is. I would fully admit that if Simpson does well I commend him and was wrong because I didn't think he could do it. But.... Again.... What's the point of telling someone they were wrong in 3 years for not crying over a pick? I am a "Pollyana" fan that likes every pick we make until they prove not to be good players. Ain't nobody got time to listen to random people on a fan board tell me I'm "wrong" for being optimistic. It's just.... So..... Silly.

No one is saying anything about crying over a pick, just saying shit guess I was wrong about that dude is more than enough. Its football, fans talk about misses all the time, some more so than others. I mean look at what happened with Creed. Its ok, you're admitting you're a homer with every pick, nothing wrong with that. If you don't want to hear that on a fan board of all places, why not just put everyone on ignore that is eternally optimistic just like you? Lol......just mostly poking fun at you now, so don't take that last part too serious

Their new OC is Frank Reich. Who as an OC and gameplanner knows what he's doing. So that doesn't worry me.

What will annoy me is if Klubnik, who they moved up for in round 4, ends up being a good starter. Because I preferred him due to his pocket feel with the rush and mobility, on top of the fact we would have had our 13 overall pick for the playoff run.

If there is any rookie QBs that were picked after Simpson that perform pretty well, gonna make that Simpson pick get questioned more. Not saying its right or wrong, but thats the reality.

That leads to people hoping he fails just so they can be right, even though it sucks for the team they support.

But will it happen? Yes, it has literally happened with every single miss or hit. It gets discussed one way or the other. Its inevitable.

That's probably true.

But at the same time I recall reading that there no package of picks that would have gotten the Colts to move off Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning when they were drafted.

Not all people think that way. I hope I'm wrong about Simpson and will root him on to do so in the process. I'd hate to be discussing him as a disappointment but I would discuss it nonetheless because he's part of Rams lore, good or bad.

We have both been around long enough to know that the above is Not-a-Given.

Aside from their own pick in 2027, the two extra #1s are the Colts and the Cowboys (or the Packers) ... those later two #1s may be in the 20's.

Also this year was a good example of how a Quarterback-draft-class can decline from expected-to-be-good TO kind-of-weak pretty quickly.

Finally, if one or two of the 2027 QBs are elite-prospects, the chances of acquiring the 1st or 2nd overall pick may be very small.

I have no idea if this "Jets wanted Simpson at #16" report is accurate ... and far be it for me to question the reliability of the Renowned NFL Insider Drew Boylhart.

Soooo, you dont think the 2027 Rams will be in a position to "win the Super Bowl right now?" Same as 2026? Why Draft the Quarterback then, coming from a lower draft slot?

Rams could have added someone that will see the field this year and could be impactful this year. If there's a player in the 1st round that balls out at a position that could have strengthened the Rams chances this upcoming year and the Rams fall short again, you can bet your ass the media and some fans are gonna have a field day with that one. I get it may not be fair in the long term view for Simpson, but that's reality. 2027, we have quite a few big signings/decisions to make so that team may not be as loaded as this year. Lastly, who said anything about drafting a QB? Stafford may play much longer, Rams could have traded for a player if they didn't draft a QB, who knows? If you paid attention, I'm part of the go get that Superbowl now crowd and worry about the future QB when you get there.
