C'mon now. You really believe that Adams missing that Falcons game was that big of a deal? D. J. Humphries poor play had FAR more to do with the offense that still scored a respectable 24 points.

Are you really going to continue to disregard the defense and special teams in order to overstate the importance of a WR?

I am not disregarding the defense and special teams but I think having a good 3rd receiver would have helped us overcome their poor play.

However, I did forget about Humphries in that game. Man he was bad.

But do see El Chapo's post about missing Adams. That explains my thought processes perfectly.

Do 1st round QBs really ever beat out anyone or are they simply given the job officially or unofficially via all the extra attention and opportunities provided by the coaching staff because of their draft position? Especially, those QBs selected in the top half of the 1st round.

I'm no simp, but if all things were equal I would think a veteran with three years experience in an offense would beat out most rookies on a team who didn't earn a record bad enough to garner a top half selection. If not, my questions wouldn't be in regards to the rookie, but the veteran (Bennett).

It all factors in. Humphries, shitty D, offense easier to defend without Adams, but here's more specific stats.....

Scoring more could have made a difference so yes Adams was still missed although Humphries was fucking atrocious.

OK. But if missing Adams was so important wouldn't his replacement have to be just as good in the redzone to offset that difference of him being out of the lineup?

Now I was a Cooper Jr guy, too. But I don't like the chances of either he or Lemon being that guy. The best chance there would probably be Denzel Boston who went in the 2nd round.

But I guess some would still be consider him a reach at #13, too.

I think this move is going to be even bigger than we realize.
The quicker we can get the other team off the field, obviously, the better.
McDuffie on their top wide receiver and Jaylen Watson being a big corner/safety who is known as a run stopper as well as being very physical.
I'm really hyped about these three UDFAs they brought in as well.
Al'zillion Hamilton, a known ballhawk.
Drey Norwood, said to be proficient in all phases of cornerback play.
Nyzeir Fourqurean. A known run stopper that could stop some of those long runs before they happen.

Re-doing the cornerback room was a big priority for the Rams and I think they are going to be able to cut some of that lower dead wood with these UDFAs developing, those 2nd tier guys like Forbes hopefully developing.
You can't underestimate how important the practice squad is for our cornerbacks this year. Both the coaching they're going to get from our two/three, (Lake in the slot) starters and of course our coaching.
Easily our biggest off-season goal and have to be a major improvement.

I think you are worried because the second anyone says something you preceive as an insult, you come thru with a comment that's a little extra. Guess I'm really trying to say you're getting a bit worked up for no reason. We are all on board with Simpson succeeding, The confidence in that is what differs and that's pretty standard amongst pretty much every draft pick.

I vote Yes. How many times did you see the play that McVay called and drew up that had the defense double covering Adams while Parkinson or Higbee had single coverage from a safety?
Adams is a double threat whenever he's on the field, especially in the red zone. Decoy and weapon.

No reason the '26 Rams shouldn't be better than the '25 Rams, health pending (of course)

I think many of us may agree here and the discussion of PPG above bears that out but the need for a 3 receiver is less about the target share and more about if one of our two delicate receivers goes down.
