I'm an obvious St. Louis fan, and I want to set some things straight.
RamStalk is what it is. Just like anything run by Post Disgrace, it's more of a forum for pissing contests than actual sports discussion. So to put that into perspective ... a lot of people are here as an alternative to that cesspool and it really shouldn't come as a surprise that the opinions of St. Louis fans from that forum aren't even close to those of those who frequent this forum.
How butt hurt are the casual fans? You already know the answer to that. To give you some perspective, I still catch flak over my Marshal Faulk jersey. Faulk?! AreYouFuckingKiddingMe?!!! Yeah, you know how that went down. I mean, I get how some morons might not remember or even know who freaking Orlando Pace is, although I openly trash them anyway, but Faulk?
It's ok, people in St. Louis are jersey snobs, I still wear my Craig Conroy sweater just to piss people off at hockey games. Heck, I'd wear it while playing goalie and just to get in their heads (which helps) an let them know that my dated sweater still isn't helping them score on me.
Also, there were a lot of fans of the Chiefs in this city long before the Rams came here, so don't be surprised that some people migrated back to the team they once followed after being slighted once again by the NFL (think back to the Cardinals).
Speaking of the Cardinals (sorry I'm personally too young to miss that team), there are a lot of people who are now double pissed about seeing their team walk away. I'm not sure what to think about that other than that NFL is in an obvious state of unsustainable whoredom.
All that said, I've remained a Rams fan because I'm just a Rams fan. I don't think I need a better explanation than that. I think that any other St. Louis fan still on this forum should be treated as such. Please don't put my city or it's remaining fans down in an effort to justify moving the team (admittedly back to LA, where admittedly there is more money). Just own it, and enjoy the team.
Looking at the other teams here, it's the same old situation. St. Louis is a relatively smaller market. We've heard so many threats to sell and move the Blues that it is tiring. Even the Cardinals for all of their success (god I hate baseball) have to be creative with their spending compared to larger markets.
