People plan vacations around football games. I have not once heard of anyone planning a vacation around a non-playoff baseball or basketball game outside of baseball spring training where the weather is outstanding and the games are free (or at least they used to be).
Yeah that is true. And what makes the Raiders' move interesting is Vegas changes that equation a bit too. Nobody I knew made trips around hockey games, I mean I know it happens but it wasn't really prevalent that I can see. Now? I always shoot the breeze with fans in town wearing different gear, who are more often than not here to catch their team in between rest, relaxation, shows, and the tables.
When you consider that the Raiders are probably the team that has the most fans, and as you said that fans tend to travel to see the games since each one means more, I honestly think they're going to pack it in every weekend. Will be fun to watch though.
Not a fan of Davis' kid and that idiotic bowl cut he flies to Florida or whatever to get every couple weeks. Would love to see him fail. But I think he basically lucked into a great situation. That team in Vegas is just a stupidly good fit and they're gonna draw the F out of their fan base in LA too.
But anyway. This city is crazy man. From the bonds for the Raider stadium sellin out in 90 minutes to the fact they're planning another concert type venue in the 18k seat MSG Sphere. It's Vegas. They're not gonna sweat the details, they're gonna build it and pack it in.
