Great point, I would move Littleton outside, he played that position at Washington and go with rookie Micah Kiser inside, but I don't expect that to happen this year because Littleton calls the defensive signals, but that could happen next year.

As to the Raiders I have posted many times that Mark Davis reminds me so much of Georgia Frontiere, huge contract for Gruden, but would not pay Mack. Anyway some good points of the fire sale going on in Oakland...Derek Carr might not be a good match for Gruden, but for Pat Shurmur, might be a perfect match.

@Karate61 brings up a point I did not thing about, comparing Gruden to Vermeil and that's possible and @LesBaker posting about moving, but in fairness the City of Oakland has done nothing IMO. Again, I believe it's on the Owner and he should be able to get the stadium privately funded, if he's truly connected, I'm betting Al Davis could have. The irony is Al Davis always wanted to build on the property where Hollywood Park Racetrack was and that's where Enos Stanley Kroenke is building his palatial venue, the more things change the more they remain the same.

Anyway having a team in Vegas will be a good thing, that Stadium in Oakland is the worst in the NFL and everyone feels the Chargers moving to San Diego will be good for Super Bowls, but Vegas will even be better. Everyone will embrace the opportunity to hold that even in Las Vegas and don't be surprised to see the Oakland Athletics become the Las Vegas Athletics and just like that Vegas has three sports teams.

Yes @LesBaker a move is not good for the fans, but this move is good for the team. It will provide Mark Davis with more revenue that I do believe he will put into the teams because Georgia did it with the move to St. Louis. Also the Stadium will be a major upgrade and because it's still close will not alienate the fans and again JMHO.

As to this thread Amari Cooper was one of the better talents coming out, but has underachieved and I do concur with many others, if the Rams are going to make a trade, I would send the draft capital to Buffalo for Jerry Hughes.

I have been thinking about Hughes as well... perfect fit.

As for Cooper I would hope Dallas got a mid round pick back as well. If not, that's a bad trade. Then again maybe Cooper returns to the form he showed early in his career.

Derek carr your next!

Gruden is getting rid of all the first round talent on his team.

That's a lot to give up for a borderline bust.

I have a random question that I'm going to ask here because a post a few up reminded me about it and I have wanted to ask it for ages. It's actually a two parter. When did we start calling pass rushers EDGE instead of OLB/DE and why on earth is it always capitalised?!

Great move for the Raiders. That pick should be midround-ish.

Wouldn't want to enter this draft lookin for a QB, but goddamn it's loaded on the defensive front. They should be able to replace Mack no problem, and start filling a ton of holes in that roster.

So Gruden is shedding all of his big contracts, or soon to be. I am sure he has a plan but I don’t think it’ll work. He seems to be quite the control freak and has a high opinion of his ability to evaluate talent. I’d lay a hunny down, betting he won’t select anyone nearly as talented as Mack.

He sure is looking a bit whacky these days. That’s what happens when you start to believe that you are as good as everyone misremember you are.

I’ve thought this for a week now. Heiden is tanking for the best chance to draft the QB from Oregon. That guy reminds me of a a Gruden guy. Carr to Texas, Miami, Or Bills.

Chucky's MO has always been to trust the old guys and he's traditionally not played younger guys as much. He's consistently had one of the oldest rosters in the league through his career. This is a departure from that if he's gonna be loading up on draft picks!

If Gruden wants to be able to win some games next year he has to keep Carr. The Oregon kid's gonna need time, he'll be overdrafted, and it's critical that Gruden snap up one of several good defensive prospects that will go very early.

I'd be very surprised if he moves Carr, who should be ok once the players get assembled around him. He's young enough that Chucky can build around him, so if he is moved it means Chucky feels like he's not willing to do the work and/or get in line with the program.

I can totally see the Raiders trading Carr as well. I hear that Jacksonville needs a QB...

Honestly Scots I don't think he's got a choice. When he signed on he inherited the oldest roster in the NFL and it's not optimized for what he wants to do either. I expect he'll keep the QB, load up in the draft, and utilize his $70+ million cap space on reloading with guys who fit.

too bad john gruden is a hideous assessor of talent and an overrated coach

raiders gonna be trash for a long time, picks don't mean shit if you can't coach or nail em.

No team is dumb enough to take on Carrs contract. Way overpaid and so much worse than most fans think.

Cooper is good. He never had a legit qb. Not sure Dak is legit but he’s certainly better than Carr.

Weren't people saying the same about Vermeil in the 1998-1999 offseason? Worked out for Vermeil, may work out for Chucky too! 3 firsts and cap space can bring a lot to a team...

Yep five 1st rounders over the next 2 years.... lots of cap space. Now they have to execute.
