Saffold tried to return the hug, but then had to have the trainers look at his shoulder

Lol! Nice...

Or like Happy Gilmore swing a club after getting hit by a car. Perfect reaction.

If the idea that the Raiders canceled the contract out of buyer's remorse (which sounds like more and more the case), one wonders if agents are going to start being wary of them.

Free agency is an auction, and the last thing you want in an auction is the winner going back on their bid. It ruins the whole auction.

There is a problem with this thread title...when did the Raiders actually put any thought into anything with this attempted transaction?

Especially if you then intend to screw that player by claiming that it's the player who was in the wrong not you.

Exactly. I could easily see this conversation happening if this becomes a habit:

"Well, the Raiders offered you this much money, and (Team X) offered you a little less. But, the Raiders do have a reputation for taking back big deals by fudging physical results. I'd recommend going with (Team X)."

Also, if the team doctor did indeed tell Saffold he passed, I can easily see the NFLPA filing a grievance on Saffold's behalf.

Oakland statements pure BS, just they listened to the radio and heard the laughs around the world
