This was such a smart move for the Raiders. It sort of feels like they lucked into it, being Plan B.

Talk about an opportunity to build a nationwide audience... check out the amount of out-of-area PSL holders. That’s crazy!

PSL sales reach $549 million at Raiders’ new Las Vegas stadium

The Raiders knew moving from Oakland to Las Vegas would be lucrative, but the revenue at the new stadium is exceeding the team’s expectations.

The Raiders have made $549 million from the sale of personal seat licenses at Allegiant Stadium, more than doubling the team’s initial projections of $250 million, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The additional money from personal seating licenses has allowed the team to add additional features to the stadium, more suites, a field-level club, and enhanced internet connections for fans.

PSLs are non-refundable one-time expenses that give the holders exclusive rights to buy tickets in their seats. PSL holders who don’t buy season tickets can have their PSLs revoked and sold to someone else.

The Raiders sold PSLs for 55,000 of the 65,000 seats at Allegiant Stadium, ranging in price from $500 for the cheap seats to $75,000 for primo locations. About 33,000 PSL buyers are from Nevada and about 7,000 are fans who had season tickets in Oakland. Many PSL owners are from elsewhere in the United States and plan to use NFL tickets in Las Vegas for business and entertainment purposes. The cache of seeing the NFL in the Entertainment Capital of the World made PSLs valuable, although whether there’s still high demand to visit a 65,000-seat stadium after the COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc on the world remains to be seen.

Las Vegas has been ready for a football team for a very long time and the success of the Hockey just underscored the opportunity. Yes, the Raiders lucked into it and their Red Headed Step Child owner Mark Clark Davis....Raiders have an iconic brand so that helps too, but let's see if they can improve, they have to deal with the Chiefs, but they have been making some good moves and then some very questionable moves.

Personally my wife and I have always really enjoyed Las Vegas and it's weather every time we have gone out there. My mother-in-law worked at Excalibur for years until she retired recently, so we always received a favorable rate and although we enjoyed the shows more then the gambling other attractions like Red Rock Canyon for example is special....Good for the area and it's amazing how the Raiders did not get any push back from Oakland after leaving there for the 2nd time.

That doesn't surprise me actually, I have a buddy who lives in Vegas and that city took to the Golden Knights like flies on shit.

Vegas has been hungry for a team and you can tell. It was actually jarring to see Vegas fans turn on Kings fans almost overnight when they got their team. Mostly because the Kings are the reason why Vegas is getting any sport teams period, because both the Golden Knights and Raiders consulted with the Kings regarding the fanbase since they had been playing preseason games there every year for a long time (Frozen Fury).

They seem to be good fans though, so more power to em.

Too bad the idiots in my state are building the stadium for them.

Been saying it and saying it. Vegas fans have gotten a lot of BS over the years as the major sports teams turned their noses up to them. MLS for example did just that in spite of a stadium being ready for build, that happened right before the NHL had the vision to be first and give them a shot. And the Knights immediately became the most electric place to play, due to the way the team whips the crowd into a frenzy with all the showmanship but also just because of the desperation of the fans to have a team. Seeing a Knights game, I'm telling you, it's incredible and I've been to many Kings and other teams' games (Caps, Flyers, Isles in my military stops) over the years starting in the 80s.

So even though I no longer live there I have family in the city and am happy for the fans there. The Raiders did indeed luck into an ideal situation. They're going to absolutely kill it there. They'll pack that stadium every weekend, and like I've said before the home field advantage during the regular season will be real. Players will be out in town on Saturday night whoopin it up and it'll be rough for them on Sunday.

Red rock canyon is fantastic yes. My house was nearby so the Red Rock Casino was my go-to for movies, bars, dinner, bowling, etc. They also have the Knights' practice facility right next to the casino and it's got a bar & restaurant up top that you can relax and enjoy yourself while watching them practice or all kinds of games/scrimmages.

When I fly in to see my kid I often stay there in Red Rock. You don't get the strip and all that but you get everything else and yeah the hiking there alone is fantastic. Might be dropping in on her in September (that's if my wife doesn't buy her a ticket to come to us) at least I want to but we'll see how things go. I miss the F out of Vegas that's for sure.
