In my humble opinion if the defense can improve to middle of the pack I think they can easily go on a run like last year. The offense hasn't been terrible. But if you have a league worst defense you aren't going to win many games.

If they continue to play like they have then we're gonna have to chalk this one up to shit happens. And think about the next few years. The defense is young but the talent is there. The growing pains they're going through this year could make them much better over the next few years. I just hope it happens before Stafford hangs it up.

Judging by OPs history, this is a thinly veiled bitch fest waiting to happen ...

In order to build a fan base in LA, which had been destroyed by a former owner, they went all in to get a chip, and were successful. The aftermath is restocking a roster that at the time of the championship was top heavy. There are holes on the roster no doubt but I have faith they get back to championship contention on a yearly basis soon.

If I wanted to carefully troll another team's forum I'd start slow with a sentence or two. Make it sound like I'm a concerned fan at first. I also know there are some disgruntled former Rams fans that would love to troll a Rams board.
This from the beginning.

When your season is all but over in September, going 1-3, I'd say some venting is going to happen for the rest of the season.
Let's hope we somehow pull one out against the Packers, or the season will officially be over after that.
Nope not evrn then.

Because three games under five-hundred the 1st week of October means a 'season is officially over' ... RIGHT?

Like, when the Rams were 3-6 (three games under five-hundred) the 1st week of November way back in ... Well ... LAST November ... and the 2023 season was 'officially over' ... RIGHT?

Show me an example of a 1-4 team that made the playoffs in recent history. I'll wait.

I did some research, as you requested, but decided to look at a different topic.

Went back to November 5, 2023 ... eleven months ago ... when the Rams fell to 3-6 after a loss to the Packers.

I found the following post on a thread asking whether the Rams should 'Tank' the remainder of 2023.

That response read: 'It may not matter if we WANT to tank or not. But tank we will get.'

The Rams went-on to win 7-of-8, with the only loss on the road, in OT, to the AFC team with the best record.

Who do you think posted the above comment, clearly suggesting that the 2023 Season was "officially over"?

Hint (because you may be a busy man) ... that poster has a Bad-Ass Avatar but it's very miss-leading because he is quick to give-up on his team, and make negative and inaccurate statements.

Just to be clear, I am NOT predicting success.
The Rams have NOT played good football the first month of the season; and I don't have high expectations for the remainder of 2024. Like most, I am frustrated and disappointed. I pushed back last night simply because you took things to the INACCURATE extreme of saying that, with a loss, the Rams' season was 'OFFICIALLY OVER'.

However, at 1-4 the odds become almost infinitesimal that we make the playoffs.

It's possibly but highly unlikely,

But if there is one team out there that can make the playoffs after going 1-4 - it is the Rams because hopefully we get most of our injured players after the bye. And then we can make a run.

Don't disagree with any of that but none of that was my point.

The problem with talking about early record and making playoffs is that most of it is pre 17 game season. It’s different now a bit with an additional game. Also more playoff teams than we had until recently (10-20 years).

Given the intriguing title, I was hoping for some stories of drunken idiocy & the like.

Drunk as the proverbial skunk, I once tried to climb the outside of my building to get into my apartment after I'd lost the key. Fell about 15 feet onto concrete, flat on my back, just a couple of feet from a staircase. Unbelievably, I walked away with barely a bruise & energetically barebacked the girl whom I was trying to impress once we finally got inside & somehow also avoided the crabs she gave a friend some weeks later.
Lmao!

More stories like these please! Maybe we can save this horrid thread.

Absolutely. However, it's not all about making the Playoffs. It's also about competing, and improving, and developing talent, and providing entertainment by playing competitive games ... and not giving-up so fast.

This forum is a microcosm of the human psyche, and how the world's operating today.

Look at how social media has turned people against one another, how every article is clickbait to enrage you based off of whatever think tank your algorithm assigned you.

The same applies here. I didn't post as much when we were rockin' and rollin' with Sean, because I didn't have to, outside of celebrating. There were concerns, but not like right now. Thus, people come out--whether good intentioned or not--of the woodwork to vocalize where Sean + Les went wrong, and why we're where we are now.

Some of the concerns are legitimate, some are bitching, some are a combo of both. I'm guilty of it, I think we all are.

But the reality is, we're all Rams fans here, whether we lose the rest of our games, or win them all. We're still gonna be Rams fans.

Having said that, I think this game vs GB is monumental to keeping our hopes of playoff dreams alive.

If Speights and Hummels plays we might have a better chance of winning this game.

My questionable decision for today?

Almost eating rotten fruit without smelling it first. Literally had it in my mouth and tasted it. …Don’t look at me like that; I hadn’t eaten anything today. Still haven’t.

Whether the Rams are winning or losing, 9-1 or 0-10. I watch every game the Rams play till the last handshake. Losing seasons happen, and winning seasons happen but no matter what
I'm going to be there to pull for my boys and watch them get back to the playoffs and the Super bowl.

Concern trolls don't concern me. :)
