Given the jump in his level of play, he deserves to.
Absolutely. And I think Lake will receive a good offer. I hope it’s good enough because he’s a big part of our backfield.

Kinchens is good but I feel like Lake is a leader within the defense. Curl is good as well but I feel very replaceable. McCollough(sp?) I think is still under the radar for most teams.

It’s kind of funny the ebs and flows of position groups. I think we all felt the safety position was going to take a big leap with Sheattle and the Yets but it was a blip. Still, the position took on a bigger piece of the pie. Not Adams piece but….

See @bubbaramfan I’m off work now. :woozy2:

I suspect. But that’s fine. The Rams are pretty good on cap calculations even if they have been stung a few times.
Sure, but we’ll see the direction The Rams go with these contracts.

I know your a Landman guy & hope his contract gets done.Q.Lake is going to be interesting to watch. He is such a local guy,and might be a win win type contract.B.Young & Verse have become SO thight that Insee them wanting to play together for a few more seasons at least.

Yeah - remember Mo Alexander -lol
We can go all the way back.

The depth is nice. When I went to training camp Josh Wallace got beat playing CB.The Rams had him & Kendricks starting to play inside CB.Wallace beat him out & found a roster spot.
—IMO they sort of are grooming he & Jaylen for Q.Lake just in case.Kinchens can’t be 6”foot,but he covers SO much field.
If you Go Back to the preseason Nick Valcarel, but Tanner Ingle might be better than Q.Lake when next season comes around. He already has his a mock-name.

Not knowing who "JSM" is and getting mad at someone for using the acronym is wild. I wouldn't type that damn name out either. Watch more ball, or get over it.

Your team plays in the NFCW, you should know who the best players in the division are.... Crap, do I have to explain NFCW now???

I believe Snead will let the market set Quinten Lake's price, like they do most others, and then the Rams will decide if they should pay him or not. While he is a stud (per Mcvay)... this has certainly been his best year (really only 7 games so far... let's see if his stats even out). He might be replaceable but he is also a foundational piece on this team (IMHO).

Keeping Lake is my strong preference, too. I was trying to distinguish between important wants and critical must-haves that will be the core of the team.

Snead has a knack for finding DBs in late rounds and even as low as UDFAs. The team has historically let DBs walk and hasn't really suffered for it. For these reasons, while I hope they keep Lake, I can't put him in the critical, foundational piece category.
You're right about the overall approach when it comes to DBs in recent years, but I do think they're somewhat open-minded... I also think Lake is critical. Between his communication and growing coverage abilities and role.. I think it becomes a little easier to build a backfield with someone like him already in place. As good as D Williams is playing.. I'd release him and use the money to sign Lake.

Wow Derion Kendrick:wow2:
Don't know how many times I said he would be best suited in the slot. Shit was a no-brainer. Except for some reason the Rams thought they'd stick him outside the hashes.

Speaking of the slot and Quentin Lake, though, he is killing it this season. What concerns me is prior to this season he was a bit overrated. But it seems either the Rams were correct about him, or he just so happens to be arriving with some mastery of his role in time for his FA payday.

In his favor slots in general are not too hard to find. They can be found well into drafts and the same is true with safeties. It's the field type corners with real juice that need to be taken higher or paid at a premium, which means he should be somewhat affordable if the Rams elect to lock him up. On the flip side of that slot types are not too hard to find so letting him walk is what I'd do.

I think you're dead-on in the overall analysis here, but I do think they see Lake with the same kind of eyes they see Kyren Williams with.. as someone who's not only a good player, but is the type of person they want to build this organization around, whenever possible. Much like Kyren got a fair deal, I think one is possible for Lake.

We typically have let our safeties and nickel cornerbacks find paydays elsewhere but I hope Lake is the one that breaks the trend, he's really grown into his role and is a big reason our defense has been so successful this year.

Unfortunately? No.

But it’s not like I’m being good. I work one night a week and Tuesday is it. Now catch me in an hour and a half and things will be quite different. :woozy2:
I have.
And it does.
But then, I've never let anyone drink alone, either. :part: :cheers2:

I agree, it would not surprise me if the Rams sign him. I felt the same about Kyren, where I would have done the deal after the season, but expected them to ink him. Lake is similar.

We all know what HC means, I use things like RB all the time.
But to act like we are all supposed to know who "JSN" is ? Am I supposed yo look up who the Rams next few games are going to be trying to figure out who that is ?
Just say the last name at least.

Quenton Lake's dad, Carnell was a multi-year-All Pro for the Steelers who was known to try and take a receiver's head off if they tried to catch the ball. :)

Ah, the good old days when catching passes across the middle was “challenging.”

Oddly, I noticed last week there was a noticeable amount of dropped passes over the middle. I guess that area is still viewed as dangerous.

If they only knew.

I hate to call it out and I don't blame them sometimes but you can definitely see cases of "alligator arms" when they see that Safety zeroing in on them.

Adams got rocked on his first catch ever as a ram. Might have had something to do with one or two of his drops.

I remember that. I was very impressed he hung on. I thought right there he still had something to give. He and Stafford are still gelling. I think they’re gonna be more dangerous than we have already seen.
