also....yea we are not drafting a QB....can't afford to dump starter caliber money on a backup QB and then also spend a pick in the first four rounds on one as well if we want to maximize our roster this year
On what planet is $11m/year "starter calibre money"? The guys at the top of the market are getting like SIXTY a year. 11m/year is good back-up money and Jimmy G is a good back-up.

Seeing a lot of folks annoyed at this. We're clearly all-in again, except this time our 35yo QB is 37. A good back-up is so important for the 2025 rams. Who else would you all have wanted?

Oh I meant a starter at another position....saying that signing him will potentially prevent us from attaining another starter caliber player at another position

For the record I am not annoyed at all - just saying I don't think we draft a QB now as that would be double dipping into our resources for 2025 - agreed that we should be all in. Love Jimmy as the backup - I just do not want to draft a QB now until round 6

100% agree.

If Staff goes down it’s imperative we have someone to keep the ball moving and not be dead in the water.

You guys remember those Stafford injury seasons with complete shit QB while we were still were close to winning?

Especially considering we don’t want to go to Philly again.

A few game a could make that difference.

My pipe dream for Rams QB of the future is that things completely unravel in Cincinnati over the next 1-2 years. Big Whit (thru LSU ties) starts back channeling with Joe Burrow about coming to play for Sean McVay. Stafford retires after stashing away another ring, and we keep the train rolling with 30 year old Joe Burrow after Snead sends them a haul.

Manifest it. It will happen.
You are not alone. I thought about this a lot. Another scenario I think about is getting Arch Manning next year. Starts immediately but we find out by week 6 of his season (don't wish this, but follow me) If Manning were to suck, then they would target Joe Burrow.

Its a win win

Yeah I don’t get the angst either, unless you prefer the Wolford’s of the league to back up your 37 yr old starter.

With the FA that we have signed so far, I would like to trade down with a pick in the high second and fifth this year and another 1st next year.

I don't know the draft numbers but I would really like to get a 1st next year. Maybe throw in Kupp as well.
