I got to give McVay/Snead the edge on this, something tells me their draft history is better than yours.... lol
2 years ago they were looking for a potential backup QB. If they see something in a QB this year who they can build in to the heir apparent to Stafford, I trust them entirely
Oh I trust them quite a bit on a lot of their draft picks. I did not have one problem with their picks last year.

However, I have from time to time disagreed with their draft picks after I look into the pick. But I will concede that I wouldn't know who to pick instead (except for two picks which I have stated before). Not going to turn this post into another why did we pick this guy when we could have picked that guy instead. That has been discussed way too many times.

This year I just don't want them drafting a QB before the 5th round from what I have seen in all the QBs play.

Dart Milroe etc just don't look like they will pan out. But I will admit that I could be wrong. If they become a Ram I will root for them just like I rooted for Bennett even though in the back of my mind, I had strong doubts he would be better than a number 3 QB.

Just as an FYI, 2020 was not a good draft year for the Rams. Only two maybe three picks were decent. So they aren't infallible.

I still maintain that Les and Sean were high that day and thought that they were getting a cross between Suggs and Ray when they drafted Terrell Lewis.
I was more pissed off at their 4th round pick when we desperately needed a center and could have gotten a good one who was still available.

I really do not like this QB class. As far as trusting Mcvay/Snead on QBs, they did draft Bennett in the 4th round when I would have drafted him no sooner than the 6th/7th round.
Yeah, I think that was all about money & the tight cap they had. They didn't want to pay $3M to $5M for a vet back up. So they looked at Bennett as an experienced college QB who could be the back up for $1M per yr.

He sits behind Stafford for 2 years and then he's a FA
I'd rather use a 4th rounder on whoever is left available, McCord, Howard etc
I would be okay with that even though I prefer a 5th round or later (I know they don't have a 5th round pick but I could see the rams getting one somehow with a trade back or trade up).

Well the trade suggested a 4th round pick for Levis, I'd prefer a 3rd tier guy with that pick
Overall? I'd be happy if the Rams took a qb with one of their first 2 picks (discussed ad nauseum)

Yeah I'm not a fan of that deal, he'd have to sign a cheap couple year extension if the Rams wanted him.

I mentioned this a while back and still am intrigued by the possibility. The concern is a coach from the McVay tree is looking to move on from him. And his tape has a whole lotta him hero balling and fucking up like Wentz used to do. The dude acts like a sack is going to result in a loss, it is ridiculous.

But he's got a nice arm. Had Coen talk him up a ton before the draft, and I know McVay respects his opinion. Basically Levis would be a guy they buy low on, and I like buying low in trades.

Personally I'd rather have Dart. He has a fresh clock ticking and all that. But if McVay goes and gets MayoMan we're gonna be making some fuckin mac salad round here. :laugh2:

I wouldn't hate adding Levis but he'd have to sign a year or two extension to make it make sense for us otherwise like Dieter pointed out he sits for 2 years and learns from 9 then he's a free agent.

I am starting more and more to think that Milroe is the pick at 26.
I would seriously hate that. Unless McVay has plans to utilize him in years 1-3 as a non-QB weapon (designed runs, screens, wildcat, etc) and Milroe was cool with that idea. I’d still prefer a true WR or RB.

I definitely prefer drafting a fresh QB. But just one year of him running our scout team should give the Rams a feel for him and then they can make a call on him to lock him up if he gets the nod year two.

If he can't win the job by year two or push an old Stafford out then he's not the dude. But if he is the dude then the Rams will ink him. Signing guys they want to sign never seems like a problem for them.

McVay has to set conditions to appease you with a draft pick now? :D
