Well, I planned on taking much more time, after talking with @Loyal who is nothing shy of an expert and talking with my wife, we decided on a Havanese. We found a breeder about two hours away with fair pricing. I sent the link and the pup I liked over for his keen eye. He gave me the thumbs up. But I was still hesitant. Until I spoke with the breeder on the phone and then was able to face time with the little guy. He is so fucking cute. I put down a small deposit until I can get down to pick him up next week. Paying cash so there won't be any funny business. Lol

I planned on waiting longer but my wife was insistent that I get a puppy to help deal with some of my alone time. She is very damn excited.

But, here is a picture of this cute little fucker!

Mr daughter has allergies as well. We ended up with a golden doodle. She has been a great dog and has required very little training. Loves playing in the pool.

At my age, I no longer prefer large breeds. Every pup goes through a chewing stage. Big dogs chew bigger things. Little dogs don't make as big a mess.

I was for years a "Medium-sized" dog guy. About 7 years ago a friend of ours had two Yorkies. The bigger one kept going after the little one. So she gave us the bigger one to take home for a while until they got older. At some point, she just told us to keep her. So we ended up with a female Yorkie. The one she kept died about 6 months later from a congenital liver problem. She didn't want to take the other one back at this point. So we have had her now for 7 years. About a year ago my wife noticed a male pup(Yorkie) on a breeders page. No one wanted him because he was "oversized" for a Yorkie. So we took him. I have to admit, these two changed my mind about small dogs. They are the best damn watchdogs I have ever had. And smart as hell. And both love to swim.

So, I'm wanting another dog to go along with my Havanese, Winston. I have to get another hypoallergenic dog. I want another Havanese, but, my wife wants a guard dog. I've suggested Poodle, but she said she doesn't believe me that a poodle will fight the shit out of someone.

She keeps trying to push a Dogo Argentino....she keeps saying they are hypoallergenic....I know they aren't.

Does anyone have any real world knowledge of a true hypoallergenic guard dog? I also suggested giant schnauzer....she thinks they look stupid. Lol

This woman...if she doesn't figure it out in the next few weeks...I'm buying another Havanese. She is lucky our pressure tank went out on our well and I'm dropping 2k tomorrow or I would have already pulled that trigger @Loyal

Has she given up on the Giant Poodle idea?
Idk what the hell she's thinking. I'm emailing my breeder and telling him I want a female with light coloring like Winston.

Dogo argentino are pretty aggressive breed, super athletic and active. I think they can be aggressive toward other animals especially of the same sex. New a dude with one, he would bring him to work until too many people were not in favor of it

I kinda want a new pup too, we rescued a border/golden pup about 10 years ago and she passed about 2 months ago. Crushed me like I never thought I could be hurt. Happened super fast playing one day and super lethargic for about a day and a half. Come to find out 60+ percent of goldens die of cancer and she had that golden trait. Herders like the Border are tanks and don't suffer from many ailments.
Only a matter of time for us but Carly will never be matched she was an absolute angel
