what scares me is maybe fisher isn't stubborn maybe goff is a bust. I try to fight that thought off but it just creeps in
Goff may be a bust, but early returns mean nothing in that equation.
IMO Fisher genuinely believes what he is doing for Goff is the best thing not only for him but for the Rams' investment. The media can talk and talk about what a bust he is, but it doesn't matter at the end of the day because as I have mentioned again and again so many great QBs did not start hot in this league, and some who started hot turned into mediocre or worse careers.
The problem with Jeff's approach is that Case isn't good enough to carry the torch. Before the season we discussed INTs specifically, that those had to be down for him to do the job. He didn't need to be Dan Marino, but he did have to be a game manager who is careful with the ball. Now Fisher defends him and the INTs that weren't his fault, but the fact is other INTs were there to be had by defenses as well; Case is not getting it done.
What is coming here real soon is what Jim Everette observed before the season, that the Rams are going to hold the kid out as long as they can, but at some point he will be pressed into action due to Case not being good enough. That point is basically here. Fish talks about how good the NYJ defense is, but they are 22nd in passing yards allowed, T-21st in sacks, and 24th in passer rating against. The dude is just out in left field when it comes to offense, plain and simple.
