It's clear the Seahawks are going to be a run first offense, much like the 49ers were with Jimmy G. Stop the run or make the game a shootout and they are likely to struggle. I don't see the defense that is going to keep games close enough. Seattle is looking at 4th place in the NFCW. If they tank, I could see Carroll being put out to pasture next year.

Impressive distance, but it resulted in a touchback. In the NFL, it's great to have a big leg, but your ability to control it and hang it up are what separates the great punters from the JAGs. All this to say, it'll be interesting to see how he develops.

Point is if the punt is 5 or 10 yards shorter it's a great punt. As it was it's nice length but you gave them the 20 yard line so it's the same as a 62 yard punt and guess what? Thirty three punters last year had a long of 62+ yards. They can all do that.

You could also ask how many of those 62 yard punts were returned. Just saying a net 62 yard punt is very good.

Absolutely but better control of his strong leg could get you an even better 75 yard net punt. Not at all saying it was a bad punt but it's not something amazing because he gave the other team 20 yards for free.

Lions offensive line looked very impressive in that first drive with their starters.

Goff had all kinds of time and their running backs had big openings.

Not sure if Atlanta played their starters on the first drive but Mariota did play on their first offensive series.

Their first string defense - Hutchinson is going to be a good one but other than their defensive line, the Lions are extremely weak at Linebacker and Secondary. At least what I saw in the first series with their starters.

Of course, Mariota basically ran almost the entire time.

Edit - Contain Mariota and he is going to suck imho. First read and then ran.

IDK if the 82 yards from the line of scrimmage is correct that's a net of 62 yards with no return.
