The Rams rested everybody on Sunday, or at least it felt that way when watching Tavon Austin drop a ball thrown right in his hands. Oh, wait -- he plays regularly. Sorry. Anyway, Sean Mannion got the call from Sean McVay. The kid owns a live arm, as well as live inaccuracy. Which is of no matter now, as the Rams prepare to host their first NFL postseason game in Southern California since the 1985 Divisional Round.

Remember that game well ... as a childhood Cowboys fan, I thought Dallas could go into Anaheim Stadium and steal a road win from John Robinson's team. Yep, so theRams won 20-nothing while Eric Dickerson busted Tom Landry's defense for 248 yards on the ground.

TWO HUNDRED FORTY-EIGHT. L.A. quarterback Dieter Brock went 6 of 22 for 50 yards, and the Rams still won by three scores. Unbelievable. Jared Goff will fare better. Much, much better. Think 148 will be enough for current running back Todd Gurley, much less 248.

The main thing that sticks with me about the Rams is the way they pressure opponents in all three phases of the game. Just look at their game against the Seahawks. The L.A. offense got short fields after a fumble, after an interception and after a long punt return. The defense also forced a safety by penalty.

The other thing that stands out is how great Todd Gurley is. If people are going to argue that Antonio Brown should be in the MVP conversation, then I believe Gurley should be in the same conversation. The Rams offense is built around him.

The best pass plays are off play-action because of his running threat. Screen passes to Gurley are also dangerous because of his ability in open space. Of course, we all know what he can do as a runner.

The Rams are dangerous. With Carson Wentz out for the year in Philadelphia, they become one of the teams to beat in the NFC.

What a difference a year makes.

2016: Oh crap, a screen... only lost 2 yards.

2017: Oh crap! A screen!!! TOUCHDOWN!!!

After last year, I was dead set against ever seeing the Rams run another screen again. Now? I can't wait to see Gurley catch a screen. I'm almost a little deflated if it only goes for 10 yards now...
