Sadiq has a bit of a head start as Oregon copies stuff from McVay. He's just got to stay healthy through camp unlike Ferguson.

BTW, you can't count on ANY rookie to be a major contributor. Sure any rookie can potentially fill a hole. But if he isn't any better than the veteran before him the immediate need is still there.
That's true, but some positions are harder than others.

Fergy getting injured in camp was a lowkey big deal for him last year and stunted his development.

Caleb Downs rumored knee issues. Not sure about the initial source but has been posted by Yahoo Sports and Sports Illustrated.
Oof. I don't see him as a target for us but I was thinking he was a lock to go ahead of us, causing one of our targets to fall.

Could also be a hopeful team trying to force a slide with fake news but I don't see how since they all have access to the same medicals.

Mendoza's not realistic. But I'd be good with McCoy or Delane. Downs would be a good safety but with Lake, Kinchens and possibly Curl we're ok at that position. We need corners a more than safety. In fact, that is our biggest area of need. I wouldn't be unhappy if they took the best corners available at 13 and 29.

IMO - Rams Fans don’t know what The Rams have & built on there roster. OTA’s & there 80 plus really grind & improve.

This year there are a FEW hidden gems not even on The PRACTICE SQUAD all season. NOT saying ther starters, but will make The Rams better.

The more I consider the possibility the more I am convinced that we need Jeremiyah Love.

I also haven't seen anyone banging the table for a run at Linderbaum in FA. I cannot be the only person who is salivating at the idea of an elite C and an elite RB and the impact that would have on this offense.

I think I was the only one to bring him up in the FA thread, but apparently the Raiders are gonna throw the vault at him.

Nick Harris who is the Cowboys beat reporter for the FTW Star newspaper said in his column that based on info he got at the combine has crossed McCoy off his list at least through pick 20, didnt elaborate. So assuming the Rams have the same info I wouldn't expect him to be the pick at 13.
In listening to former scout Bryan Broaddus it appears that Jerry Jones doesn't want guys coming off injury on the draft board this year.

Make sense as they had a bad experience with CB Shavon Revel Jr. last year.

There are a number of posters who have been advocating for Linderbaum. He would be a major upgrade over Shelton. I believe releasing Shelton would save $4.5m but Linderbaum is going to probably get $20m - $22m/year.
I’d like to see that but only after they procure a top FA CB. “All In” for building the perfect OL beast.

I'm fine with the line as is. It performed well last season. Bringing back the same 5 is good for cohesiveness. What we need is depth. Its more common for a couple to do down and miss games. We need backups who are serviceable. Humphries cost us in the Atlanta game.

I am afraid there is some fire behind that smoke but we will see.

I guess I am in the minority here because I would like to see the Rams take Ty Simpson and have their QB of the future learn for a year behind Stafford before taking the reins. Also, I do understand everyone wanting to go all in for 2026.
The Rams can do both.
If that’s the way the Rams see it.

When they acquired the falcons pick, didn’t most people initially react by thinking “QB ammo”?

Not saying it’s what I would do, but definitely a legit argument to be made for grabbing a QB at #13 if you believe in Simpson.

Step one accomplished.

Still think Linderbaum signs with the Raiders. He’ll get too much money and his price only went up with the C from Chicago retiring at 27.

If that's all he could give, then I would agree.

But, this kid would automatically be the best blocking TE on the team and if used properly could be a major matchup problem for defenses to contend with thus again opening up things for others. That value is FAR MORE than just a couple plays here or there.

This selection wouldn't preclude the team still getting a starting CB later. But, how many significant matchup problems can be had later?

Timetable to get caught up to NFL game? Depends upon the player. But, to be worthy of the selection, Sadiq would be more of a H-Back / FB / WR initially, IMO. That Jet sweep they tried with Ferguson? That works with Sadiq.

I didn`t realize he was a great blocker as well as a weapon. I still don`t like TE do to the positional value. But I get your point. And now that we have our all-pro CB, maybe a weapon is in order. I still like Cooper Jr. if we go that route tho.
