I'm watching the Cahrger/Texan game.

Watching Tart and Ford play DL for Chargers. Both are pretty stout.

Since Ford, Tart and BB III are all free agents and all should be about the same price to sign,
who of the three would you want the Rams to sign?

? Hmmmm, have no idea so today, I say keep BBIII just because you know what you have and he’s been in the system.

I'd stick with BBIII.

How long before you start throwing PFF numbers into the conversation, I wonder?
Lol - thanks Londoner - you know me well.

I like looking at ways to make the Rams better (hopefully on the cheap).
Free agency is obviously one of those ways, thus the question.

You will be very happy knowing I watched the game and "saw with my own eyes" as I've been curious about Tart and Ford since LAC signed them for "cheap" and I saw they would be free agents again this year.

Why would you "stick with BBIII" ? What are his strengths/weaknesses?
Have you seen Tart / Ford play?
Without looking at the dreaded PFF, what do you think are Ford's / Tart's strengths/weaknesses?

Do Ford / Tart have abilities that might make the Rams better?

Tart played this year with a cap hit of $985K
Ford played this year with a cap hit of $1.79mil
BBIII played this year with a cap hit of $1.24mil

Sorry, am I back at school?

I don't have to show my working out.
Ok, I'll do your work for you.

BBIII is only 24 and has shown improvement over the last 4 years.
He has time to get better while still growing into his physically best years.
He is pretty stout against the run, on par I think with Ford and Tart.
When it comes to pressuring the passer from DT . . . well, that's where he/the Rams need to improve.

More pressure from another DT needs to happen now if they are to win another SB - Stafford is not getting younger.

If the Rams can get a DT who is a good run defender and can pressure the QB . . . Verse, Kobie, Hoecht and Fiske will be tougher to stop.
Is that player Ford, Tart, someone else?

We'll see.

Depends on the price. You can get run stuffing linemen anywhere. It's a strength of this draft.

You say they should all be about the same price to sign.

What ballpark do you feel that will be?

If he's good enough for Harbaugh to have him around, he's good enough . . .
Wait… What? Now it’s time to show your work. Since when is Harblow some infallible evaluator of talent?

He had a decent run with the Whiners before sucking after burning through talent that was mostly there before he arrived. Then it takes him 9 years to win a national championship that is tainted by his unethical conduct.

So sorry. Just because they’re good enough for that pant load, it really means nothing. Almost every team hits on a few low budget players. Neither one of them really does anything for me as having an edge over BBIII or probably several other inexpensive players that will be available next season.

I think we have a difference of opinion on Mr. Harbaugh's coaching ability.

I view him as top 7/8 in the NFL. Has helped turn the Chargers pretty quickly.

As far as Ford, Tart and BBIII . . . Ford and Tart have much more ability to rush the passer.
The Rams would be better with a DT that can stop the run and rush the passer.

I read some of that.

I guess that's how Chargers got him cheap?

So McVay and Harbaugh have the same standards? I disagree. Harbaugh is a POS in my opinion. He cheated in college like Belichick cheated in the NFL. I don’t believe McVay would ever do that, nor need to. Plus McVay came to the Rams with the motto ‘We not me”. He cleaned house immediately. Tart’s past doesn’t indicate that he fits that mindset. McVay just jettisoned Ernest Jones for what he preserved as being disruptive to the team.

Sorry guys I didn't know about the sign stealing stuff until you brought it up and I (just) went and read about it. My bad.

Not to diminish the charges against Harbaugh . . .

. . . but what about Tart, Ford, other DTs that could make the Rams better vs. BBIII?

If Brown is willing to return on an affordable deal, it's him. If not, Greg Gaines might be an option. We're looking to fill a specific role. Fiske is a penetrator. Turner is a do-it-all type. Brown is a big body who clogs the interior and (hopefully) keeps the LBs clean. Poona Ford isn't built for that role. Tart has bounced around a lot and was out of football last year. Might as well stick with the guys we know.

Right NOW it’s BB111.

What happens in the offseason there are a lot of different options around The NFL & coming out in the draft. Pretty simple answer.

I agree FA on the cheap is importance, but Johan Jackson vs.Andrew Whitworth you must hit on ?
It’s a whole discussion for the offseason. At least wait a day.

I like how BB111 - aka Bobby Brown the 3rd. Tried to lead last week, but still the Hags got into the endzone on the next play. He’s made some big plays though.
Hopefully helps The Rams make a run to win another Superbowl! He has what those other might not have !!! A SUPER BOWL RING !!
