Poll: Thursday Night Games

He's just expressing his own personal opinion. In fact, the Players Union came out with a statement that they were fine with Thursday night games.

Saying this:

"There are a lot of players out there who feel like there's not enough days in the week for us to be playing on Thursdays,"

Is not expressing his opinion it is inferring he has talked with "a lot" of players who have this opinion.

Well, the NFL wants Thursday games basically all season long. Opening day isn't a problem - but the teams playing week 2 would have to have their byes on the first week, leaving them to play 16 weeks straight. There's no way that would fly - teams want their byes to be in the middle of the season, when they have a lot of nagging injuries to heal. And other teams would have to have their byes near the end of the season - again, not fair to the teams.
