Since nothing new has transpired in this situation over the last ten days, I thought I'd bump this thread to ask the question: Would those of you who answered "no" on trading Aaron Donald(76.5%) now change your vote to "yes?"

I voted no the first time. But I never thought he'd take it this far. Even if he joined the team today he wouldn't be ready for game 1 and I'm not sure game 2. Now he's affecting the team's ability to win games. My support has moved from him to the team. I'm approaching it the way I would if he were out due to injury. Next man up. Rams football is starting. Time to focus on the upcoming game.

I know he's a special player and he deserves a big payday. But they won 4 games with him last season. A great DT cannot impact a team the way a great QB can. If he could we woulda been a playoff team instead of the 5th worse team in the league.

I still say no, but with the caveat, "for now".

He wants to play hardball with us, let's play hardball with him. Let him sit. Let his value drop (which is the only direction it can go when he's not on the field). Let him ruin his chances for getting the type of payday that he is being offered.

Then trade his a$$ to a dogsh!t team like Cleveland or the Jets.

I voted yes the first time - assuming a good enough offer, but not requiring an insanely large offer.

It's bad for the team to overpay one player. With the salary cap, paying one player like you'd otherwise pay two or more stars makes it difficult to have a balanced roster. To make it worse, caving in to pay a player two years early, AND paying him like he's several star players, encourages everybody to hold out.

Missing time despite being under contract also means that he won't be ready for the regular season for a while. If he sits out until late in the season, he might not be effective until the Rams' season is nearly over.

I want McVay to have a chance to build the team his way, with players who buy into his team first mantra, and with enough picks to assemble the team he wants. Preferably not picks that will become expensive all at the same time. If AD does not want to be part of the next great Rams team, let him bring back a slew of picks over 4-5 years that lets McVay build the team he wants.

If AD is close to signing a contract that will not cripple the Rams - great. But if not, and a team is willing to give the Rams good value even if it takes years, that is also great.

^^^This x100. We want quality players no doubt, but we dont want the attitude of a player who would blue falcon the other guy.

Since I bumped this poll at 11:28 am, the "no" vote has dropped from 76.5% to 72.8%. Interesting. Yes, as Mojo reminded us earlier, you can change your vote. We'll revisit this thread from time to time if nothing changes with Aaron Donald's holdout.

If, and I know this is a big if, he could be traded to the Browns for one of their first round picks, and all three of their second round picks I think I could support that trade. The Rams would have two 1st round picks, and three 2nd round picks. That would be tough to turn down.
