I think Packers is the only one you don't want to have to travel for. No one wants weather having an effect on a game. Tampa, Dallas, Arizona will be fine places to go. None of them are crazy loud like the Superdome was with all those whistles and whatever BS they were piping into the sound system that playoff game. Obviously, number 1 seed is best and playing at home but since we get to play the super bowl at home that would be ok if we have to travel to get there. :)

Discussing the playoffs this early may lead to a premature climax to the season. You should try thinking about baseball.

It will all come down to Stafford.

Will he be the erratic QB like we saw against the Cardinals in his biggest game.

He has not found a way to win 1 playoff game in 13 years.

Goff outplayed Dak Prescott and Drew Brees and if not for Brandin Cooks dropping two TD’s in his hands outplays Tom Brady to win a Super Bowl.

I really like Stafford, he is an amazing person with a rocket of an arm and brings lots of experience to the game, but playing big boy football under pressure on the road is something he will have to show he can do. The erratic throws cannot happen in the playoffs where it’s one and done.

Lots of fans and Mcvay himself are starting to understand Stafford warts and all. Lots are living in denial and making excuses for him. He goes through several erratic throws at a time and often throws uncatchabke balls. If this shows up in the playoffs we are done.

I am rooting for Stafford and believe he could play his best ball in the playoffs. If we see the good Stafford for a stretch of 3-4 games in the postseason then we can win it all.

The playoff teams are dam near set barring major injuries. We will have to beat the Packers, Cardinals and Tampa. That is what it comes down to. Both Stafford plays again this year so we will get a good idea of how he can matchup vs top QB’s.
I should let it go but I won’t. The statement “…if not for Brandin Cooks dropping two TD’s in his hands outplays Tom Brady to win a Super Bowl” means you were either watching the game from a different vantage point than I or we were in different frames of mind. If Cooks catches one of those balls he’s Super Bowl MVP. I’m he catches both he’s a Super Bowl legend up there with Lynn Swann or Jerry Rice.

On the first, Goff was late, but Cooks could have made a play.

The second was pass interference (uncalled), as the league later acknowledged.

Not sure I understand this response.

Goff does outplay Brady if Cooks catches just one of those passes imho. And I really feel that all he had to do to catch the first one was turn his back slightly to the oncoming defender. If he did that, the CB would have been forced to climb over Cooks back to knock that pass away. And Cooks was standing all alone by himself for a good full second before the pass got there. He had time to do that.

You dont want this smoke, fool!! We've already mapped out our parade route!

(Kidding).

It looks like the best team y'all have had since the 90s. Yea sure I know there were some good teams with Romo and Daks rookie year. I think this team looks better than those.

My answer would have been Tampa but we got them without AB and I'd also prefer to never play Brady again in the playoffs.

Green Bay has the weather.

So even though that was my rationale for wanting Dallas, they're still a really good team. I'd much rather get a top 3 seed

We already beat the Bucs, Cowboys are overrated. and Pack is overrated as well. We can beat the Cardinals.

The concern is we are a WC team . Cardinals schedule is soft

Green Bay has Aaron Rodgers. Don't want to play him anywhere.

I find it ironic you criticize Stafford for “erratic throws” and fault this but make every excuse in the world for Goff when he makes “ erratic throws” the last several years.

“ it wasn’t his fault it was the O-Line not blocking”

“it wasn’t Goff it was the RB not picking up the block”

“ it wasn’t Goff’s fault it was the WR”

I guess people don’t have to wake up from the world they have created for themselves but it’ll sure be nice not having to read these “ big rig or trailer “ posts…
To be fair Stafford's worst throws have come when he has had all day to throw the ball and actually held onto it too long.

His OL has been outstanding this year...what 6 sacks total thus far and very few pressures.

Goff was also pressured on 44% of his drop backs in that game. Brady was pressured on 12% of his drop backs, yet it was 3-3 in the 4th quarter.

There was a lot going on in that game and McVay was taken to school by Belichick as was Goff and the interior OL was dominated as Gurley was shut down.

How are we overrated when we have the #1 offense, and our defense has the most takeaweays? Our defense could use some work, but nobody has also said anything about how amazing the defense is.

That has little to do with nothing. Goff had the same exact thing happen a lot of times when he was our QB.

Bad throws are going to happen, even for the GOAT Brady. It’s what you do to overcome them that matters.

My message was in response to the illogical argument of criticizing one QB for the same things that were defended with another.

Can we just stop inserting Goff into every thread. Not every statement about Stafford needs a come back about Goff. Or vice versa. Let it go.

To be honest with the way our pass D has played so far this year (hopefully it improves) playing GB is not ideal for us. We just don't match up well. So I'd go Bucs (just because we've beaten them twice) then Dallas.
Now, in a couple months things may look a lot different but that's just based on today.

Although if I recall correctly, what really sunk us against GB was their ability to run on us almost at will. And of course, having only half an Aaron Donald certainly didn't help us either.

But yeah, pass D definitely needs to improve this year, and it starts with how Morris deploys his players. Last week against the Giants showed an inkling of him figuring it out ... does that trend continue?

I'm worried about AB and Godwin. I think they are too much for any of our DBs outside of Ramsey. And Brady is okay dinking and dunking against our soft zone coverage.

As of now, all of these teams are tough. We really need to win the division.

But the previous QB didnt have this kind of line since 2018...when he took us to a SB.

So he gets to use the excuse of having a shitty line in 2019 and that’s why he under performed? And again in 2021?

Nothing is ever Goff’s fault? :laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1:

Glad we traded his declining ass. It’s funny to read that Goff trade thread… the blind leading the blind in denial.

Just like Stafford's excuse of playing in Detroit.

Appears both QBs need help to win games... Shocking.

And I am not saying Goff is as good as Stafford, but the Goff hate and bashing is over the top.
