I'm worried about AB and Godwin. I think they are too much for any of our DBs outside of Ramsey. And Brady is okay dinking and dunking against our soft zone coverage.

As of now, all of these teams are tough. We really need to win the division.
Yeah, there's no easy match up with any of those teams. Need to be at home for sure

So he gets to use the excuse of having a shitty line in 2019 and that’s why he under performed? And again in 2021?

Nothing is ever Goff’s fault? :laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1:

Glad we traded his declining ass. It’s funny to read that Goff trade thread… the blind leading the blind in denial.
Did he pick up your GF one night and put dents in his headboard or something... Let the hate go.

Goff gave you four yrs of a lot of success that you hadn't tasted in 14 yrs yet you seem to really hate the guy. I don't get it.

He had shortcomings, but also did a lot of good things. Appreciate that and move on.

Big issue with the concept that "Goff gave you four yrs of a lot of success" - JJ is a better safety than Goff is a QB. Saffold a (much) better guard.

Saffold left and our OL went down the toilet. JJ leaves and our defense goes from first to "WTF" so far.

Goff leaves and we improve on offense across the board. But people are stuck on the fact that he was somehow responsible for the success.

It's always been pretty questionable to me that so many took issue with Goff being shipped out but all those same people got over better players in JJ and Saffold leaving pretty quickly. Doesn't make a ton of sense.

It's too early for serious playoff talk, but IMO, that #1 seed is of great importance. First off you get a bye. Then you play the lowest seed remaining at home. If you win that game, you have the championship game at home the following week. Homefield and a bye is a huge advantage.

I personally liked having the top two seeds get a bye and only 6 playoff teams.

The Rams run the table imo if they can get the #1 seed. On the road things could go wrong.

There is no hate to just analysis, one thing some are incapable of doing due to the emotional connection.

Facts are facts regardless if they hurt one’s precious ego or incorrect ideologies. Goff was a great QB 2017-2018, not so much the other years.

Yep, letting Saff walk cost us 2019 imo.

Also I think it's just as McVay says: grabbing Staff was about seizing the opp to get him more than it was about dumping Goff. I don't see the reasons for going to extremes in evaluating Goff after the fact. Just bc he's not on the level of MS doesn't make him sudden dog:crap:.

I get what you're trying to say, but this is sort of a shit comparison to be honest.

JJ and Saffold both left in FA because we couldn't afford them, that's not really the same as Goff being traded. The reason why our offences is elevated is because we traded Goff for an upgrade, while JJ and Saffold left without a better replacement coming in to take over for them. We also couldn't have traded either of them for one of the better players in their position.

If anything, a better comparison would be Ramsey. We traded Peters and Talib so we could upgrade at the position with Ramsey and our defence got better. Ramsey was a better player and a better scheme fit, just like Stafford is a better player and better scheme fit.

Also Goff did bring us some great football over the last four years, why are we pretending like he didn't? Especially 2017 and 2018. His backslide in 2019 and 2020 doesn't erase the good things he did the first two years, it just helps demonstrate why the team felt taking the risk for Stafford was worth it.

Great defense travels more so than great offense. If our D doesn't evolve and get better then yeah, we're going to need that #1 seed this year.

Last year Rams win in Lambeau with a 100% Donald IMO. Then probably fall vs Bucs in NFCC with the sketchy QB situation.

Having said all that, I actually like the Rams on the road in big games. This is the kind of team that gets uber focused in other teams' buildings. Robert Woods has said as much.

Next week:

GB @ Ari
TB @ NO
Dal @ Min

At least one top seed should fall.

The NFC is so loaded.

I have a feeling the team that gets the #1 seed goes to the SB.

I can't see us winning @GB, @TB,or @DAL in a title game.

But here’s the thing - Stafford is cold as ice. If it’s a one possession game and we have the ball last, Stafford will drive it down the field and put us in position to win.
