Texans proving how you go absolutely nowhere with journeyman mediocrity at the QB by playing QBs that are backups for a reason.

Absolutely. Was going to say pre game how actually these two teams were quite similar - relying on great defense. The difference is Hoyers Texans on defense are dire whilst Reid gets the best out of Smith through a good scheme and coaching. The only chance Houston had was to get out to an early lead through stealing a score somewhere and that might have forced Kansas to hold onto the ball a bit and let that pass rush with Mercilus and Watt get to captain check down. As it was the early score means Smith gets the ball out super quickly and nullified them.

Houston are not a good team. They're a good defense in a crappy division.

This is why I think that the top teams should make the playoffs. Winning your division should not guarantee you a spot. No one in the AFC south deserved to be in the playoffs this year. I want to see the best teams in the playoffs. Not these lop sided games. Top six teams make the playoffs. Have the first tie breaker be division record. That way division games still maintain major importance.

Interesting how Smith seems to use the same plan against the Texans as the Rams - and tears them apart. I wonder if it is execution or coaching that more teams don't do the same against us.

Say what you want, but Smith would improve us massively. He is really good at playing within himself and the team. i have often wondered if they 49ers wouldn't have won a SB with him instead of Kap. I know Kap was more exciting to watch, but sometimes steady is the way to go....

I think it should still be divisions. Just think of teams as the representative of their region. They are the best of where they came from. They shouldn't be penalized for that. Those teams that get shut out with better records? Take care of business where you are and get in. Seriously, someone take down NE already! The way things are going, they need to have Rams-level futility to make things right with the universe again.

Andy Reid is a good coach. He had a great game plan today. Assuming Maclin is healthy they look really good.

They need to draw playoff teams from NFC and AFC as a whole. Top six records in the NFC and top six in the AFC go to the playoffs plain and simple. Divisions still matter simply because you play those opponents 2x, so weak divisions have an advantage but if their win/loss record blows they stay home.

I've always felt they would have(won a SB w/A.Smith).

It is refreshing to see a coaching staff that not only overcomes injuries to key personnel, but who also improves their team through out the season, instead of letting them regress and then blaming everything on injuries and youth.:headexplosion:

Reid is an awesome coach. Iggles were dumb kicking him out and then letting Kelly wreck shit.

Amazing how he pulled that team from the dregs this season.
